We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscilla Starr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscilla, what’s been your favorite thing to do during quarantine?
One thing I’ve been loving during quarantine is having the time to craft more. I’ve learned how to make polymer clay earrings and make macrame pieces for my home.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started Que Dulce back in 2017, It was not easy quitting a stable job to pursue baking full time but it was my dream and I made it happen. I had a lot of help and moral support from my family and friends along the way. As a business owner I would tell others to pursue whatever makes them feel alive and happy because at the end of the day we only have one life so why not make it a beautiful one. I am not saying it’s going to be easy but with hard work and faith anything is possible!

If you had a friend in town where would you take them? Give us an itinerary of your day in the city.
First things first, we’d stop to get a fresh baked donut from Dough Boy Donuts on Camp Bowie, my favorite donuts in Fort Worth! Then we would take a bike ride down the Trinity River trails, it’s so relaxing and you get to see parts of the city. For brunch I’d take her to Cat City Grill on Magnolia because in my opinion they have the best eggs Benedict in town. Afterwards I’d take her to the museums down camp Bowie Blvd and shopping at the resale shop (my fav resale shop) at this point we are probably hungry again so we would stop at Coco Shrimp for lunch! After lunch I’d take her to see the Japanese gardens because, it’s so peaceful and relaxing. Last but not least we’d have dinner at the bearded lady and head to the coyote drive inn to end the night!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Fist and foremost my husband is my number one supporter. He was the one who gifted me my first set of measuring cups and rolling pin. His support from day one has been essential to my business. Another person I’d like to recognize is Leah Loose, she taught me so much and gave my business a platform. Not many business owners in the same field would be willing to do that!
