We had the good fortune of connecting with Pajhe Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pajhe, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Baking cakes and treats was a hobby I enjoyed at an early age; which I discovered to be my gift from God. I could create a masterpiece effortlessly. After college, I decided to pursue my business to avoid working a retail or corporate job. My previous business endeavors helped me improve my cake business structure to confidently start what we know now as Cakeish by Cakeaholics.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

My work demonstrates diversity. My desserts range from wedding cakes to dessert jars sold at local markets. Every product and flavor is designed with children and adults in mind. Although I am in a saturated market, the potential versatility I am able to have with each client sets me apart from another artist. I am proud of the career path I have chosen for myself because it doesn’t limit me to one kind of product/service because I can be creative with designs and flavors. I am able to continuously introduce and offer a variety of products and services.

I invested in my professional development in my early years because I wanted people to take my brand as seriously as I did. It wasn’t always the easiest task to break out of my shell to expand into different communities, but once I did, I watched my business grow tremendously. Recognizing where I was and where I wanted to be helped me develop my goals to overcoming challenges one step at a time. I learned to become more consistent in the engagements which drove positive feedback for my business.

One thing I would express to the world is to never give up on the dream you have for yourself and your business. I experienced a lot of trials and errors before I fully began to understand what it took to operate a business. While it does become difficult at times, it is important to know the hard times are the times in which we are conditioned to grow into a bigger and better business and business owners. I will not ever be finish extending my talents until I know they have made room for myself and others around me. Cakeish by Cakeaholics is just getting started and I hope my story can inspire people all over the world who desire to run their own businesses as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A weekend in the city would begin on a Friday night with a rooftop dinner (RH rooftop) and a night out in a section at one of the most lit lounges. (maybe nightclub–not a big fan of clubs!). We would start off our Saturday with every girls favorite, BRUNCH! What is a trip without cute outfits, breakfast foods, and mimosas?! Next we would head over to one of the local selfie museums for cute portraits. After that, a stroll through Deep Ellum would be fun before ending the night with an activity such as painting with a twist or candle making at infinity candle co. candles and cocktails. If we aren’t too tired, a cute pajama party and venting session is always top tier with your favorite girl(s). The next morning we would get dolled up to head over to another brunch spot for brew and breakfast (there’s literally plenty places to choose from). Shortly after, I would reserve a vineyard tour at Edge of the Lake Vineyard so we could enjoy a lovely day with wine drinking and cheese eating. Lastly, we would conclude our day with street tacos of our choice and a relaxing night at the pool at our hotel.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a huge shoutout to my village and supporters–without them I would not be inspired to maneuver through my business journey. My loyal clients display their continuous support which I am beyond grateful. My family and friends are constantly motivating me to maximize my potential. I also would like to acknowledge the cake legends who came before me and set the cake standards beyond anything the world could imagine. And last but not least, shoutout to me for being true to myself and achieving every cake and business goal I have set forth to accomplish.
