We had the good fortune of connecting with Noah Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noah, what inspires you?
I am inspired by my culture. Being an african american I come from a rich lineage of fashion, Fashion is just another form art. You can use fashion to showcase your own sense of style even now in todays, world more than ever. So, growing up in the late 90s and 2000s I feel like I lived through periods of time where the fashion was very important and unique. People were able to define themselves based off of how they dressed. Now I pull from those memories to draw inspiration to create my merchandise while putting my own spin on it.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the CEO and creator of my own clothing brand called Dream Big Apparel. Dream Big consists of apparel products like tees, sweaters, hoodies, jumpsuits, and shorts. Dream Big also has accessories like trucker hats, beanies, and socks. The thing I feel sets my brand apart from others is that I want it to be more personal. I started this with the name itself. Everyone has a dream, and everyone has the ability to “Dream Big”. I want to motivate people to pursue whatever dreams they have no matter how big or small they are. I very excited about the new products I am going to unveil for the summer line. I have some basketball shorts, some new shirt designs, and socks. These will surely generate a lot of traffic for the brand. I am also excited about doing some pop ups this summer. I have worked hard to get my business in the position that it is in today. The number one thing to do is to network. Networking is key to branching out your business you never know who may pass your name along, and when they do you want the case to be positive. Social media is also very important. It is the greatest and cheapest way to publicize you brand. All of this has come pretty natural to me, so my journey has not been very difficult. I have learned a lot of lessons like where to get products, what products to get, how to operate more efficiently, and how to take advantage of timing. I have also learned a lot about social media. As I said this can be your greatest tool. I have learned so much, but I have much more to learn about how to influence social media in order to grow the reach of the brand. The greatest lesson I’ve learned thus far is to listen. Listen to your customers they will help you determine how you need to move. The better you are at being able to observe your data and number the more you will be able to tailor your brand to cater to that audience. That is how you can really increase sales. So, listen to the people whether its physically through your ears or through the numbers. They will tell you what they like, don’t like, and want to see more of. And keep your mind open so that you will be able to learn and adapt. I want the world to know that I was a young kid that came from nothing and could’ve easily stayed in the lines or got put in a box, but I didn’t. I wanted to do something extraordinary. I am letting people know that anything is possible. Just go for it the only thing in your way is yourself. Once you conquer that your possibilities are endless. I really hope that when readers read this, they are motivated. That is the main goal of Dream Big Apparel.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently stay in Little Rock, Arkansas which is the capital of Arkansas. As you know it is a few hours from Dallas. There are still some cool spots to hit where you are bound to have to good time. If we want to get out and enjoy the scenery, we could go climb Pinnacle Mountain. It may be a challenge to complete the task, but it is very fulfilling when you reach the top. Also, along the journey up the mountain you can take in the nature around you, As far as going out and eating and having drinks there are tons of brunch spots and where we can eat and drink and vibe. Downtown is area that gets a lot of traffic on the weekend.
There places like The Library and Big Whiskey where you can eat great food, have drinks, and listen to music. It can be a real vibe. You will definitely be on course to run into to some very interesting people.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off before giving a shoutout to any one the person that deserves the biggest SHOUTOUT from me is GOD! Without GOD any of this is not possible and I am just grateful that he allowed me to be in this position. I’ve always believed that every interaction that we encounter helps to shape us. I have been blessed to be in contact with so many people that have given me love, encouragement, and support. I can never let them know how much I appreciate them for that because they are the reason that all of this is possible. They literally “Keep the dream alive”. Lastly to get more personal I want to shoutout some loved ones like my mother, my girlfriend, and a countless number of close friends. They’re always there for me in various forms. They support me continuously. They help me spread the word on social media and help me set up at events. My girlfriend and her sister help me brainstorm a lot and come up with new designs and ideas. As I said earlier, I can never thank them enough for all that they do for me.
I think this can be a start though. So, for everyone who has liked, shared, purchased, viewed, seen, or even thought about Dream Big Apparel this SHOUTOUT is for you!!
