We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Beck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Breastfeeding may be best for baby – one reason why over 80% of women are doing it. But let’s face it, it can be hard on mom. In fact, half of all moms say they quit breastfeeding earlier than they wanted to because of lactation challenges. Some common challenges women experience immediately are engorgement pain when their milk first comes in, slow or no let down, and latching issues. Problems can be due to physical deformities of the mother’s nipple, tongue tie in the baby’s mouth, or simply incorrect technique. Later on, especially once the mother starts pumping, new complications may arise. These may include low milk supply, clogged milk ducts or even mastitis. Unfortunately, these problems can impact the mother both emotionally and physically, as well as the baby. These could eventually lead to a premature end to breastfeeding. Milkease is here to help mothers be successful in their breastfeeding journey…and enjoy it!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I created a product, Milkease, that helps enhance the lactation process and alleviate many common breastfeeding issues in a holistic way. It is a breastfeeding relief pack that increases milk flow (and let down), enhances milk supply and releases clogged milk ducts. These are just a few of the many benefits that it provides to help moms breastfeed longer and allow babies to get the best nutrition ever made! Safety is one of our highest priorities and therefore, Milkease is non-toxic, gel-free and made with all-natural materials. Only the best for our moms and babies! You can find Milkease at BabyBliss in Snyder Plaza or online at www.theMilkease.com or on Amazon.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are many great places to visit and things to do in Dallas. It is known for great BBQ and TexMex. Two of my favorite restaurants are Pecan Lodge and Mia’s Tex-Mex. If you are looking for iconic things to do you could visit the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, the Perot Museum and Dallas Arboretum. Lastly, don’t forget to checkout BabyBliss at Snyder Plaza, where you can purchase your very own Milkease!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Starting your own business take a village, and I have many people to recognize. However, the person who has supported me the most is my mother, Stacie. She has always been an amazing mother, but has also been at my side through every step of Milkease. In fact, she was actually with me when the idea of Milkease originated. She was staying with me after my first child was born. We had many late nights together trying to figure out why Brayden was crying! I’m sure many mothers can relate. We struggled night after night, and finally realized I needed something that produced moist heat so I could get my milk to let down. After much online research and doctor consultations, Milkease was born! My mom has been my biggest cheerleader. She helped me officially launch Milkease at the ABC Kids Expo and has been my lifeline ever since. There are many friends that have also helped me along the way. One of my great friends, Nicci, photographs for Laughter Photography. She donated countless hours of product photos. I had friends graciously be my mommy/baby models – thank you Paige & Martha! Thank you to all the friends and family that have been a listening ear, a helping hand or have provided support. I couldn’t have done it without you!
