We had the good fortune of connecting with Missy MadeWell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Missy, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The habit of just keep going, even when you want to quit and nothing seems to be working. JUST Keep Going!
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from others is my willingness to go against the grain. I put irreverent sayings on functional products. A lot of people told me that won’t work, but everything I created I would have in my own home. I use all of the products I create, so I knew others would want it to! I like to things that make me laugh or at least smile when I use them, so it was a perfect fit. I also solved a problem I was having with my dishtowel, so that is where it started, but adding the artwork made it just take off! I overcame the challenges by just putting getting dirty with the work. Whatever it took to get the job done, I’m willing to do it. Now I can hire people to do the things I don’t like doing so much, but either way, its going to get done!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, we just purchased an Airstream so we LOVE taking our friends out camping when they come to visit. Sometimes we will just set it up in our driveway and use it as the guest room. If my girlfriend was visiting, that is what I would do. Set up camp at the Grapevine Vineyards RV park, right on the lake. There is nothing like just sitting around a campfire and chatting with friends, and this place is the best place to do it close to home. We also love our neighborhood in McKinney. As someone that travels all of the time for work, being home is the best so we have made it a great space.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband deserves the most. It’s just hard to be married to an entrepreneur, let alone me. He has always been the supporting role with my business and ideas in general, and that takes a lot of man to step aside and let me take the spotlight.
