We had the good fortune of connecting with Mikial Onu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mikial, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
When I first started my company, my goal was to create a platform that removed the barrier to entry into Real Estate Investing so that anyone from any background can achieve their financial goals through Real Estate. No matter your financial situation, educational foundation, or time available; our goal is to provide consistent real estate investment opportunities geared towards your specific financial economy and risk tolerance. We want to empower average, every-day workers and/or underrepresented people to build wealth through Real Estate by providing training, education, support, and investment opportunities to our members.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a Real Estate Investment firm, specializing in ground up developments across Texas and Louisiana. We build homes wherever we can, but what I enjoy most is that each development is a chance for someone who may not have ever thought about Real Estate to come and join us passively or actively. For each project, people will get the education behind it, the step-by-step breakdown, and of course a return when their project is complete. What really makes us unique is that: unlike many investment firms that typically only target high net-worth individuals, we have roles that anyone can play in our real estate community. Whether you are a multi-millionaire, or just starting your financial journey, we have programs to help you reach your goals. We are undergoing some improvements and I am excited to be able to bring more investment opportunities to people, especially in Dallas.
I have learned a lot as an entrepreneur. For starters, I am constantly the youngest person in the room, and sometimes the only minority. This has made me mature faster, but it has also helped my knowledge base because I am constantly having to prove that I know what I am doing to be able to establish business relationships. The biggest lesson I have learned is to just be confident.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Deep Ellum is always fun, I also enjoy Legacy West area. It depends on the day/night.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Dad has always been very supportive of me. In sports, school, or anything else, he has always made sure I know that I am not alone. Outside of his teachings and support, I want to thank him most for setting the example. As an immigrant, he could have come to this country and made 1,000 excuses, but even to this day he works all day everyday, and I have never heard him complain once. I am thankful I am able to watch his work ethic and emulate it.
