We had the good fortune of connecting with Midora Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Midora, how do you think about risk?
Sapphire Chic Modeling Group started as a RISK- Realizing I should keep – Going, Creating, Learning and Building. There are many avenues in business for a RISK, yet all risks are not bad, some are growth building and worth the effort. Knowing the market, analyzing data, trends, clients and having a product or skill that someone wants is golden.
I have always been a Creative, working on projects, seeking out fun things to do. I have been with a large Bellydance troupe for over 20 years, and am a licensed Interior Designer. These skills have been confidence building from designing spaces, preforming live, working with fabrics, costuming, and designing my own outfits. Coming from an Air Force family, I have been blessed with mt parents drive and don’t quit!!
RISK – Realizing I Should Keep – Sapphire Chic because I am passionate about small business and the amazing rewards that come from creating. Bringing content outside of the industry standards, having a say in how you want your business ran and giving back by mentoring aspiring models is my driving force.
It’s all been worth it!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Sapphire Chic started from designing Bellydance outfits. We did a photoshoot, and that turned out very professional and we took off from there. We are different in that we are accepting of all types of people, We don’t turn down a client based on size , race or looks. We are one of a kind with our way of bringing out a shy, nervous model and empowering her or him to at least try. We take the inexperienced beginner model and give a green light to shine. Our platform has a certification process and 3 levels a client can join. We are always open to learning, trying different lighting styles, makeup, video, and ideas.
A Sapphire Chic Jump Start Model works with us as a model for our brand, they receive professional recommendations including photography, makeup, runway, posing and other services for our brand and theirs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To have fun, could be a camping trip to Broken Bow Okla. Trips to casinos, a bed and breakfast that https://www.texasbb.org/
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, our strong spiritual base is our foundation. At times, being a creative is lonely, and requires lots of grit. You have to have thick skin. From workshops, reading, and networking, I stay informed. So thankful and blessed for every experience / creative we have worked with.
The Jump Start Models are my heart, they are truly amazing people, some with no experience who learn and grow with Sapphire Chic and have helped build us, including Heather Williams, Cree Kell, and Heaven the Model. We have a blast working together! Let’s Create!
