We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Korobov and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started FIT4MOM The Colony-Lewisville in November of 2020 during the middle of the pandemic because I knew from personal experience that motherhood was a journey that shouldn’t be traveled alone. Especially now. When I became a mom of 2, my second being born 10 years after the first I found myself feeling very alone and lost with starting all over again. Then I found Fit4mom. It literally changed my life. I had not only found my village I found my purpose.

During the pandemic everything was completely shutting down. I then realized my part. I wanted to help fill a growing void in our city that would help to support moms in discovering their best selves- both physically and emotionally while creating a community of empowering women who could find lasting friendships for not just them selves but their entire families.

I have been blessed to have met so many women who have helped to support this dream and in turn, my very own family. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to see so many of these amazing women achieve their fitness goals while finding their village. My hope is to continue providing community to #allthemoms for years to come.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a pre and postnatal wellness group for moms and their kids in every stage of motherhood. We offer classes for fitness, stay and plays and so much more.

I have found that Motherhood is a choice you make everyday to make someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when your not sure what that right thing is… and to forgive yourself over and over again for doing everything wrong.

So why is community in motherhood so important? These strong communities are critical because they’re often an important source of social connection and a sense of belonging. Participating in a community bonded by attitudes, values, and goals is an essential ingredient to enjoying a fulfilling life especially during this crazy season called motherhood.

What sets us apart is we take the time to make community a priority and it shows. I don’t want to speak for Mama I only want to create and curate a space so that they can speak and advocate for themselves. That is Fit4mom The Colony Lewisville.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Grandscapes in The Colony is one of my favorite spots to venture out to for any occasion. Shopping, food, activities, live music, you name it they have it. We could spend the entire weekend and still not do all the things.

Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Center for all your water play needs has been redone and is wonderful for all ages.

Nicos in Carrollton is literally the hit spot for weekend brunch and everyday dinner. They have a huge patio with a play area for kids to play while you enjoy your food and drinks.

Sixty Vines in Plano is an amazing brunch spot!!

The Boardwalk in Plano is also another fantastic place to eat and walk around.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our F4M TCL village shows up not only for themselves but for me and my family.

Every step of the way they have helped make me a successful business. It is literally because these incredible women. Either through word of mouth or just showing up to bring me food when my family was on lock down this community has given me life and everlasting gratefulness for this opportunity.
