We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria teresa Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria teresa, what matters most to you?
Bieng able to relate to people in there best and worst moments makes a difference in relationships. You never know who your talking to so it’s important to be respectful and caring to everyone. It could be a smile, a tip, a compliment, a apology for something someone else did. But being empathetic is one of my biggest principles I live by.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
You know, funny thing is originally I wanted to attend the art institute of Dallas but somehow I ended up attending I.T.S cosmetology school. (Shout out to the principle ,ms Tanya). I graduated in 2013 but I never went to get my license. Family problems , Life, kids, situations, deceptions, heart break and my anxiety and depression wouldn’t let me sit down and study.

Turns out that it was my own children who would eventually motivate me to get my license in 2021 and my career took off within the year. Definitely one of the hardest things I’ve ever done considering I was basically homeless, studying for a license heart broken and a single mother.

I’d like the world to know that if I could Over come all of my demons and insecurities anyone else can too! It will be very difficult but what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger! Yes I feel successful and financially stable but the love I receive from my clients fills my life purpose. I know I’ll be doing nails for the rest of my life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ohh, I would definitely take her to eat at all the best tacos spots in the metroplex like fitos tacos, salsa verde tacos, tacos paisanos, la paisanitas tacos in Plano is a hidden gem! Horse back riding , rodeos , and Carne asadas!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly there’s many key factors, situations and people that one way or another motivated me but my biggest most powerful motivation are my 3 children. Isaias , Elena and jr. They are my battery that never dies.
