We had the good fortune of connecting with LLG Transportation Consultants and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LLG Transportation Consultants, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We owe credit to our father who has been an owner operator in the trucking industry for over 30 years with having his own business majority of the time. During our childhood into our teenage years, we travelled on routes to different states with our father dropping and picking up loads, so we experienced first-hand the ends and outs of what it takes to operate a trucking company and all the hard work it takes to remain successful. Seeing the freedom, flexibility, cash flow and working his own hours at his own pace early on as an entrepreneur, encouraged us to follow in his footsteps and pursue our dreams in the trucking industry.

What should our readers know about your business?

LLG Transportation Consultants, LLC is a family-owned business that originated with two sisters, Lashanta and Lateasha Witherspoon. The “G” in our company name is a way to honor & memorialize our beloved brother Gregory. Growing up in Central Alabama with limited opportunities inspired us to start a business that offered others career opportunities.

We grew up in the trucking industry. Our father started driving dump trucks over 30 years ago and for the last 20 years he has been a successful Owner Operator! As expected, as we traveled, he began teaching us the details of the trucking industry. We have experience first-hand the financial benefits/freedom and stability that is associated with being an Owner Operator. Our goal is to help as many as possible experience the same or better!

What sets us apart is we don’t mind sharing valuable, accredited information that many people are afraid to share especially in the black community. When you see no competition and serve with a purpose, we all are able to win. We have learned what and how to deliver where it’s enough information that urges people to come back for more. Since the beginning, we pride ourselves on showing we care, serving with integrity, and being authentic no matter what. The goal is to be impactful and make a difference in our community and worldwide.

We have been in business for over a year and this road has not been easy from discontinuing partnerships that no longer had an objective, experiencing hardships to disloyalty, however, we overcome those challenges by listening to our gut when it comes to people in business and being willing to let go of what doesn’t work for our company. We have learned that obstacles will happen but how you react to those situations is what sets you apart. Having the courage to walk away from it before it becomes a major barrier takes a lot of courage, but it is necessary to move forward.
