We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Leiva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It all started about 8 years ago. I was in a depression, and my husband wanted to help me, My whole life I have loved baking but never took it to the next level. it was always finding a recipe and making it for the family, or always being in the kitchen coming up with new but delicious inventions. So one Valentines day my husband got me a class for cake decoration, I took it, then my best friend asked me to make her sisters baby shower cake, I said ok, so i baked the cake and came up to my husband and said I need you to please make this little animals from this picture from this edible play-do, he did an amazing job having Never in his life taken a class, he listened to how i told him to handle the fondant and what to add and he did, there is not a weekend that I don’t come up to him with some crazy cake decorations that need to be made, and somehow he works his magic and we make it happen, I am the baking, he is the decoration and together we make the perfect team, My husband turned his garage into our bakery because it came to the point that I was not able to keep up in my house kitchen which is where it all started. so he used some money he had saved and made his garage into our bakery, and now we have a place connected to our house where we can work but still be at home. During covid that was a huge help, because we were still able to produce work.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are not your typical cake bussines, we personalize each and every order, we put love and dedication, we pay attention to little details to make sure each cake is exactly as our client envisioned, oh and we also make decorated treats to Match our cakes!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well me being a latina we love to dance so during the week I would take her to the zoo, museums, aquarium, some nice restaurants and to get some some snacks like an elote in a cup or some but at night we would go dancing and perhaps karaoke. and on sunday we would bring them to church with us. We love to party and have lots of fun but we believe in God and we like to save sunday to make sure we give him a little time for all he does for us

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Husband Geovanny Leiva Because he gifted me my first class, he pushed me through the whole process and never lets me give up. because he is next to me figuring things out and behind me making me stronger every day. He is my biggest critique, he doesnt let a cake walk out of the door unless he inspects it military style. (Marine Veteran) He is my best friend and the best work partner. He truly is my right hand. we argue like any other couple but at the end we are always the best and strongest team since day one. And I wouldnt have it any other way.
