We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liz, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Connections and relationships are the most important factor. Even though my job is one of technical skill the client in the chair needs to feel that connection with me enough to trust that at the end of our time together they will be happy with the results. If there is not that connection it throws the entire process off and makes the session that more difficult and awkward. My skills are there but also trust that grows out of the connection has to be there; after all…at the end of the day I am tattooing on the clients face.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is Studio 7 Aesthetics and what I do is permanent makeup. I am essentially a “brow slayer”. Most people have heard of microblading and eyeliner but not much of anything else. Microblading is actually the least suitable out of the procedures for a variety of reasons. Anyone with aging skin or oily skin benefit much greater from powder brows or nano brows because of the decreased trauma to the skin given it is done with a tattoo machine instead of a blade. Lip blushing is a trendier procedure where the lips are lightly and slowly saturated with a pink or peach color. Sometimes the color is just because the client wants a pop of pink and sometimes the color is added to neutralize hyperpigmentation or discolored lips. Eyeliner is often sought after by ladies that are tired of putting on eyeliner daily. Permanent makeup can save a lot of time in the morning or correct something that is a bother to the client, I even have many male clients. Scalp micropigmentation can be beneficial to those that are balding.
At the end of the day if I can help anyone feel more comfortable, attractive, happier I am pleased with the career path I have chosen.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love quirky, trendy and fun spots from rock hunting in Fort Worth, BBQ in Roanoke, Deep Ellum for good eats to Christmastime in Grapevine. I don’t think the metroplex missed anything as far as activities goes.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my eldest daughter who believed in me and supported me throughout my process and big shift from the corporate world to solopreneur.
