We had the good fortune of connecting with Layane and Max Maximiliano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Layane and Max, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
We are originally from Brazil, and have been in Texas for the past 11 years. We first started when I was looking for this specific console for our house, and we just couldn’t find it. With an interior design degree, and with Max’s experience flipping houses and doing construction, we decided to build it ourselves. From there, we never stopped!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We make unique wood furniture pieces. From the first contact with a potential client, we try to engage each one of them in the whole process of customizing a special piece, focusing in a one-on-one attention. We’ve learned how to bring the uniqueness of each client to these pieces and projects.
Everyone has different tastes, different lifestyles, different budgets and necessities, so everything we build will have these unique characteristics!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dowtown Mckinney – luckily 10 minutes from our shop. Cadillac Pizza Pub has the best pizza and live music. Then a walk through the antique stores and a slice of apple pie from Emporium Pie.
Allen – Dinner at the traditional family owned Roman Cucina followed by a walk through “Waters Creek’s” boutiques and stores. Kid and dog friendly!
Happy hour at Rollertown beerworks in Celina; local brewery with food trucks;
A few hours spent in the “Dallas Museum of Art” finished with a sunset at Klyde Warren Park.
Waco and the Silos – can’t miss Chip
And Joanna Ganes’ restaurants and tour through their Fixer Uppers!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We’ll always be thankful to our family and friends for always encouraging us to keep creating these unique pieces, but a big shoutout to our first clients, that after buying our pieces from the beginning, trusted us to build them more and more custom furniture pieces, resulting in a successful word of mouth depending business!
