We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauri V. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauri V., what do you attribute your success to?
God. Without Him, my brand would be nothing. Scratch that, I would be nothing! He has seen my vision through from the very beginning and continues to order my steps when it comes to this industry. I call myself a “kingdompreneur”, because I know that my end goal is to bless others through my work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Taking someone’s vision for an event and bringing it to life is very much so an art form to me. As an event planner, I enjoy hearing the many innovative ideas my clients have for their weddings, baby showers, social mixers and the like. It genuinely brings joy to me once the heavy lifting is done and we see the finished product.

A client’s smiling and satisfied face is what I do this for. Bringing people together for a good time is my “why”. This world we live in can get so hard at times — so whenever there’s an ounce of happiness and joy, I revel in it. And that is the product I get 100% of the time from planning my events. That is what keeps me going.

Being an event planner hasn’t always been easy, and that is due to trying to carry a lot of the load on my own. There was a point in time where I did EVERYTHING — from decorating, setting up, to taking down and coordinating every aspect of each event alone. It took me some time to realize that I couldn’t put my best foot forward without working with a team and outsourcing. I believe having a team when it comes to any project, is what makes all the difference. And not just having ANY team, but having THE team that you can work collaboratively and effectively with; Sincere, like-minded individuals who truly see and understand the vision.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The best spots in the city –

Cookie Society (Black-Owned)

Off-the-Bone BBQ (Black-Owned)

KISS and The Tipsy Alchemist are fun places to go for drinks!

The AT&T Discovery District and Klyde Warren Park are cute places to hang out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
