We had the good fortune of connecting with Kjradiant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kjradiant, is there something you believe many others might not?
In order to Succeed you don’t have to conform you can make it without trying to blend in or fit in. Just be yourself and the rest will follow.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is highly based on the most vulnerable part of myself and for many: my inner child. My younger self. When I first walked into the social media world I was so excited to connect with all of these new possible friends(I didn’t have many in real life truly I was a dork, a nerd, and had enough social anxiety to charge a Tesla for life) and make new connections. However it wasn’t long before comparisons started: Why I didn’t have as many followers? How does she get so many more likes than me? Call it insecurity call it competitive nature I hated it, but more importantly I couldn’t figure out why. Unfortunately my young brain decided it was because all of these women were prettier than me and I was devastated. It transferred to real life and every where I went there were girls all beautiful and stunning and I could see why they had so many followers, so many friends. Long down the road, a severe eating disorder, and several mental health issues to go with it I was still obsessed with social media and comparing myself to other women. Keep in mind the average Instagram feed is hundreds of selfies in your face of just how beautiful and fabulous this persons life is. It made me wonder, which one of these people is like me though? Are any of these celebrities dorks forced to make their timeline reflect everyone else’s? What makes them squeal in delight, it can’t be just purses right? I’m not the only 21 year old that has every Disney song and movie line memorized right!?!?! I realized with the average timeline the thing that really connects us all is our passions and the things that excite us! And if no one else was going to show it, I felt it was time I reopened the door of social media but this time I am going to Kick It Down From The Other Side!!!!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I truly don’t know! This is my first year here back in Dallas(spent two years in Houston for college before transferring) so I’m still extremely new. However the first place would have to be breakfast! I’d check TikTok and Instagram to see if there are any local spots that are unique and serve chocolate chip pancakes or cinnamon rolls because those are a must! There is a beautiful art museum that I’ve been dying to go to that is showcasing Egyptian artifacts so we would definitely have to go there because I’m a sucker for history. By then knowing me I’ve found a spot and thus an impromptu photoshoot of my best friend to show her how beautiful she is and how thankful I am to share these moments with her. Taking photos always makes me hungry so we’d be off. Mexican food is my go to, there’s a really great food truck I’d love to visit so we would go on a mini road trip around Dallas to find it! After a long day it would be nice to do something fun like an arcade or karaoke club. After once again working up an appetite sushi is my go to dinner! Laughs, good times and back to my house to binge Disney movies, anime, or cry through a romantic comedy.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Person I’d love to thank has to be Robin Williams. He helped me discover my light. My Family for instilling the fighting spirit in me and my younger sisters keeping the flame under my butt to drive me to success. But most importantly I want to thank me for never giving up on me because so often we forget the effort on our ends needed to reach our goals.
