We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelcee Guyton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelcee, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Yes! God gets ALL THE glory and honor for my success no questions asked! It would be selfish of me to take the credit for the things I have achieved in my life. Second is my consistency and commitment to hard work. Third is all the love and support I get from my family and community. Without those three I would not have pushed myself to become what I am destined to be.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Wow, where do I start?! So since bringing people to God’s kingdom is apart of my purpose I am busy communicating with God daily seeking after his heart and the next step he wants me to take. One of my gifts from him is to assist in the healing process of others by sharing my positive spirit, being there for them through hardships and encouraging restoration in their lives . I also work full time in the corporate world that ironically helps provide clientele for my photography business daily. The moment I clock out I’m engaged in capturing moments of love and happiness. Every opportunity I get to expose myself to for growth I go for it, even if it makes me uncomfortable.
Let’s not forget that I am mother and fiancé as well! My family is a HUGE part of day. I have a sweet daughter and wonderful Man of God holding me down. Being a mother means being a teacher as well so I spend a portion of my day teaching my daughter how to read, write, pray, and love God. The other portion is loving my man! I exercise encouraging and praising him to be the man he was created to be. Relationships are always going to be a task. So no, our relationship isn’t instagram perfect, but it is a true blessing to have someone you can live for God with. I also set routines of getting weekly house chores done. Tip: I advise getting a planner or jotting notes down in your phone daily to keep up with all your task and responsibilities!
The love for motherhood and becoming a wife has created an interest for being a motivational speaker for women and young children. I will be soon launching a program for mothers and daughters to learn how to connect with God and grow from the inside out. I get excited and love to encourage others to step away from fear and come out of their comfort zone to achieve their purpose in life. Everything I went through in my life prepared me for my own purpose today. Certain events were easier to overcome than others, but each event created structure and has allowed me to learn from my mistakes. I’m most proud of the way my life has become organized. Just look at this schedule! Though most women wear many hats, never forget about the strategic process of trying to prioritize and keeping everything afloat! These days I am SUPER busy, so take it day by day and don’t force too much on myself especially when my mind and body are done with the task.
Each new and eventful day I have to convince myself that I don’t work for people, or myself. I work for God. Since the Lord has provided me so much provision for what he has for my life I have to be very tactful on what project and how long I work it on. In order to sustain being successful and organized as a believer, mother and entrepreneur it is very important to keep God first…. AT ALL TIMES! I would have never made it this far without the Lord, all of his grace, provision and love he provides. I promise to give back to God by whole-heartedly using/ sharing the gifts he stored inside of me with the world until the day he tells me my job is done!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely book a room at Canvas Hotel in Dallas. Stirr Dallas has the most bomb day brunch and a beautiful aesthetic for a fun night of music and drinks. I would see what dope artist is performing at House of Blues and then have some pizza at Zalat in Deep Ellum. I would love to take them on a Gondola ride in Las Colinas. We would take a stroll and ride the trolly at Klyde Warren Park. For drinks and more night life we would definitely grab drinks at Gloria’s or 54th Street in Lewisville. To top of the visit we would go to Reunion Tower and enjoy a skyline view of Dallas!
