Eisha Marvin | Event Stylist / Creator & Founder of POTW

One of my favorite quotes “There’s no magic to achievement it’s really about hard work, choices, and persistence” Michelle Obama. I love this quote because it reminds me that we’re all capable of going out there and achieving our dreams. Believing in yourself, and finding the courage to go out there and fully commit. Truly giving it all you have. And most importantly not giving up. That’s when you develop your magic. Read more>>

“It is not our abilities that show what we truly are; it is our choices.” – Professor Dumbledore, Year 2 I believe we all have natural tendencies; we are all “wired” a certain way. For me, I tend to be a “big idea” thinker, a visionary, and a results-over-relationships bulldozer. I’m a good leader, not afraid to stand up and take the reigns to make things happen. At the same time, I’m not a great people person, not good at remembering to be a good friend. My innate personality has strengths and not-so-strong characteristics. And that’s okay! I love that I can know those facts about myself, embrace my abilities, but still choose to override my weaknesses. Read more>>

Oh my! I love quotes. I have so many saved on a Pinterest board labeled Inspirado. I usually stumble across them when it’s something I really need to hear in that momemt, be it motivation or inspiration. An old fave is from the famed fashion designer Diane Von Furstenburg: “I didn’t always know what I wanted to do, but I knew the kind of woman I wanted to be.” It took me awhile to figure out that graphic design was my true calling. Even during college and some much needed soul searching, I always new the kind of woman I wanted to be. I knew I wanted to be kind, inspiring, and create something for others to enjoy. Read more>>

One of my favorite quotes come from a poem I read in my teenage years from the legendary Tupac Shakur; “Ambition over Adversity.” “Take ones adversity, learn from their misfortune, learn from their pain. Believe in something, believe in yourself. Turn adversity into ambition, Now blossom into wealth.” This poem taught me how to avoid certain situations just by paying attention to others and try not to make their same mistakes and also to believe in myself. The poem gets straight to the point, short and simple. Read more>>

“Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do.” Oprah Winfrey I feel that we have all been stuck in a job in which we are not genuinely happy. However we must keep working hard and give it our all until we are able to move on to the next journey in life. There is no easy way to success. The key is to take each step as a stepping stone and understand that each step will prepare you for your ultimate destination. Pay your dues now until you reach your heart’s desire. Read more>>

Gregg Gallian | Criminal Defense Attorney

“Whatever you are, be a good one.” – Abraham Lincoln. I have always lived by this quote. I believe it applies to me both personally and professionally. As a husband and a father, I strive to be the best for my wife and daughter. As a criminal defense attorney, I work hard everyday for my clients. To me, this quote has always meant that I need to do something every day that makes me a better version of the person I was the day before. It encapsulates the never-ending pursuit of being a “good one.” Read more>>

“Your life is a script in which you are the author, so rewrite it and become your own best hero.” This is from my latest book release called “Rewrite Your Script: Journal of Considerations.” The journal is for those who want to begin to change their life script. It is from considerations of quotes that I have written over the past 3 years that have helped me to rewrite my own script. These quotes offer opportunities to reflect on ways to understand oneself, through recognizing old patterns and developing a new story. Read more>>

Ahhh…this is a tough question for me to answer as I’ve been a quote collector since I was a teen. Seriously, I have a notebook filled with quotes that have impacted me through the years. Trying to narrow it down to one is tricky, so I will share two of my everyday quotes/affirmations that are important reminders that keep me going. “You can never go wrong being yourself.” Derived from the quote, “I never went wrong being myself.” from my favorite makeup artist of all time, Kevyn Aucoin. Throughout my life, I felt like I didn’t fit in a lot of times. My father was in the military, and we traveled a lot. I went to five different elementary schools, that took a toll on a little biracial kiddo. I’m half Filipino and half white. Read more>>

My tagline for my lifestyle fitness business–Moms Wear Heels–which is: When mom is healthy and happy, the whole family wins. “Gods wealth is constant in my life. Gods wealth flows to me in avalanches of abundance. My every desire, goal, and need is met instantaneously through infinite intelligence. I am one with God and God is everything!” I came across this affirmation I was listening to the audiobook Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill. This was before Hands and Hearts BOUTIQUE was made a reality. What I loved about this affirmation was that it covers all bases of what I needed then and now to attract into my life. In saying, believing and affirming that God is providing all that I need to attain it I get closer to my goals each day. Read more>>

“For what it’s worth: It’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over” -F. Scott Fitzgerald I love this quote because starting over is a HARD decision to make. Having done it in my mid-40s, and doing a complete 180 in my career, was something I felt tugging on my soul for many years prior. Once I did, although it was scary, it was liberating at the same time. People tell me that I am an inspiration to them, but I don’t understand that. Read more>>

Nedi Hernandez | Licensed Esthetician & Tax Preparer

My favorite quote since being in this industry has always been: Their is no competition among each other but motivation from one another” This quote and I relate because In every step of the way I have had people that I admire and I look up to! I have always had a good support system by my side to hold me when I feel down and when other people didn’t believe in me. I like it because I believe we should motivate each other in achieving goals and support each other because we are indeed stronger together than if we were to see each other as competition. God blesses everyone and everyone will be able to get where they are supposed to. Read more>>

My father always recites this to me, “adversity builds character”. I won’t say it’s my favorite quote, but it has been very instrumental in my thought process. Not only being a business owner, but just a human, you’re going to have adverse situations come up. Your outlook to that particular situation is what matters. Learning how to not only make friends with adversity, but also allow it develop and cultivate you, is significant. Read more>>
