We had the good fortune of connecting with Keith Booth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keith, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always wanted to come up with a way to give back to the community and to develop generational wealth. Having a business meant I could create jobs for the people, and also establish revenue for myself and surrounding communities. After assessing my skills, I picked skills and qualities that I had, and that helped me ultimately come up with the type of business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
4G Custom T-Shirts: Our company is minority owned and dedicated to providing superior products and services with an emphasis on giving back to build and support communities. We provide jobs for individuals from marginalized communities and collaborate closely with local businesses, corporations, non-profit organizations, churches, and more. Developing a strong network, being eager to learn, adaptive, and having a strong drive led me to where I am business-wise. It was far from easy with several different challenges, but the most important factor was my mindset. Knowing that obstacles were temporary and would make me stronger kept me going. Relying on people in my network and doing the proper research, helped with overcoming each of the challenges, simply because I knew someone that had the knowledge or resources necessary to resolve the issue. The biggest lesson learned along the way was that there is no “cookie-cutter”, path to success and it varies for everyone, but with a similar end goal, the one consistent thing is the effort and attitude you apply.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Most of my best friends are in the area, so I guess we would do the usual things that we love. Fishing, working out, barbecuing, and discussing how we can change the world are pretty typical. There are a couple of spots we could go out to eat, in no particular order, Wingfield’s, Odom’s Barbecue, OMG Tacos, The Catch, Pepe’s & Mito’s, and TC’s Shaved Ice for snow cones.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Parents: They are a vital part of my success because they equipped me with the tools necessary to succeed in the world. Their support and love has kept me encouraged throughout my life and afforded me the opportunity to succeed. I am grateful and forever in their debt. Kirk Myers: My mentor and business partner has taught me plenty about operating a business and developing general wealth. He has been a close friend for several years, and plays an integral role in the community by raising health awareness and lifestyle choices in the Dallas LGBTQ community. Without his assistance, the rate of progress that I have experienced towards my goals would have been slower. Rich Dad, Poor Dad: Reading this book and several from the series inspired me to change my perspective on business and how it worked within the society we live in. Understanding the operations of a society, and how people rise to the top and become wealthy, all began by reading through these books.
