We had the good fortune of connecting with Kassidy Owen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kassidy, what role has risk played in your life or career?

Risk-taking is everything. In life, when I’ve felt the most scared, it is when I’ve leaned in the most. I used to not be that way, but the more I followed the things that made me scared, the risks, the more I realized that is what life is about. Life is not meant to be played safe; it’s meant to be played full out.

Business is 100% risk. Being an entrepreneur is 100% risk. Nothing is guaranteed, in life, but especially in business. I’ve found the only way to guarantee the risk will be successful is to ensure I align with my values. Otherwise, I’ll look back, thinking, ” I wish I would have listened to myself in the first place.”

I’ve taken many risks, including moving across the country with no job, friends, or plan to move back to my hometown three years later. The risk was not the move; the risk was betting on myself to figure shit out when the plan wasn’t laid out.

The outcome of risks is resilience.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Kassidy Lynne Social Media Management is a social media management and content creation company whose mission is to help business owners have the time and freedom to grow their businesses without stressing about social media.

I don’t promise my clients that they will become famous; I promise that they will be less stressed over how to keep up with the ever-changing platforms. I create a plan, and then I execute said plan.

I started this company after a horrible break-up with the corporate world. I felt discouraged and was quite literally told that I had no talent and wasn’t “pretty enough” to be on Zoom meetings with clients. I was constantly put down for work I spent hours creating, all from higher-ups who barely had Facebook pages. As a former blogger and someone who’s grown up with social media in their back pocket, I felt I knew what I was doing. After quitting and some long therapy appointments healing the wounds caused by horrible leadership, I decided to try freelancing. Months later, I would get my LLC and become an actual business. My company has been helping business owners build their social media content for a year now, and I am insanely proud of the work I’ve put into her.

Building a business is NOT easy. It is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The endless hours, rejection, and self-motivation are some of the most complex parts of being a business owner. But the rewards? Time freedom, choosing clients I am passionate about, and knowing that one day I will be able to build a culture that will cultivate future business owners.

I want the person reading this, thinking about starting a business, to know that they can do it. Do you know what it takes to be a business owner? Grit, Perseverance, Effort, and Passion. And when it gets hard (because it will), you get up, and you tell yourself what I tell myself every day, “you just have to make it to tomorrow.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I am a Vegas girl through and through, and while there are SEVERAL spots to go in Vegas, here are a few local spots.

Coffee Shops/Virtual Places to work: @bungalowcoffeeco @sunrisecoffee @founderscoffeelv

Food Spots: @frankiesuptown @juansflamingfajitas_henderson @innout (obviously)

Drinks: @weallscreamdtlv @thestovenv @lanetacocina

I highly recommend checking out @local.livin on social media, as she shares all the best places in Vegas!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Many people have helped shape me into the woman I am today. My parents have constantly fought for me to believe in myself. My sisters pick me up no matter where I have fallen and show me unconditional love—my brother, who guides me from Heaven. My friend, Katheryn, who believes in me more than I will ever believe in myself or my business, constantly reminds me that failure is not an option. Bailey, who holds space for me to show up as I am at that moment. Ashley, who is the independent business women I hope to emulate. Whitney, who’s resilience inspires me to stay the course.

But the person who has worked endlessly for their version of success, the one who puts in the hours and gets up every time she feels defeated, is me. I am grateful for my perseverance, for trusting and leaning into who God has created me to be.
