We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joshua, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It pursued me actually before I can remember. My father was a singer and he passed last year unfortunately. During that time, I was told by my Aunt that I used to go to all my dad’s singing events and I would tell her I was gonna sing just like him. So apparently I knew then and it’s my reality now.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My stage name is JTronius. I’m a soul singer that creates what I love to call psychedelic soul music. I am currently in a trans-Atlantic duo called Sons of the Sun signed to BBE Music. I also collab with other artists in multiple genres worldwide. I got to where I am in my career by being consistent and never giving up. And more importantly, I love creating music and I always remind myself that’s why I’m doing it. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s not supposed to. At this point, it’s my stubbornness and addiction to the feeling of continuously creating that gets me through the ups n downs n all arounds of the entertainment industry, especially in the covid era. I’ve learned that everyone has their own lifetime timeline, so embrace your own story and ride the wave to your best ability. Be sure and enjoy your overall human experience because all of it is a blessing. Also know that there’s infinite inspirations to tap into as a creative. I want the world to know that my current mission and mantra is to become like the sun and shine on everyone through my music and overall being. Sons of the Sun for everyone!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start with the Reunion Tower because it looks like a huge microphone and I’m a singer. Then, go to all the best bbq and Mexican spots in town because that’s our specialty I feel. Hit up Deep Ellum for the artsy side of things and some great live music. Show the State Fair Grounds, hopefully when it’s open. Got to go to a Mavs and Cowboys game! Six Flags would definitely be a must too
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I would like to shout my homegirl Soopa. She’s a model and entertainment manager in the DFW area. She’s the one that connected me to Voyage Dallas. I’d also like to shout out my global music tribe, pretty much everyone in my career that’s helped me create music throughout the years. A special shout out to Maverick Quest and our label BBE Music. Shouts out to my biological and soul family and to all the gods and ancestors in the multiverses
