We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Swearingin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonathan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a business is one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences that anyone can embark on. For me, there were three main reasons why I decided to take the leap and become an entrepreneur: to make a positive impact, to pursue my passion for connection with people from every walk of life, and to have control over my own life.
First and foremost, I knew that I wanted to make a positive impact on the world. I wanted to create something that would help people in a meaningful way, something that would make a difference. With my business, I have been able to do just that. From providing my clients with the resources they need to make an educated real estate decision to supporting local charities, I know that I am making a difference in my community every day.
Secondly, I have always had a passion for connecting with people from every walk of life. I wanted to create a business that would allow me to meet new people, learn about their experiences, and build relationships that could last a lifetime. And with my business, I have been able to do just that. From working with clients to collaborating with other entrepreneurs, I have had the opportunity to connect with amazing people from all over the world.
And finally, starting a business has given me the control over my own life that I have always craved. No longer am I stuck in a job that I don’t love, working for someone else’s dream. Inste4ad, I am building something that is entirely my own, something that I can be proud of. I have the freedom to make my own decisions, to chart my own course and to create the life that I want for myself.
In conclusion, starting a business has been an incredible journey for me, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas-Fort Worth is a vibrant and exciting region that has something for everyone. Whether you are a foodie, sports fan, culture enthusiast, or outdoor adventure, you will find plenty of events and activities to enjoy in the DFW area.

Here are some of the top things to do:

  1.  Arlington Entertainment District:
Tour the AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys football team, also partners to my broker Monument Realty, is an impressive venue that can seat over 100,000 fans. Even if you are not a big sports fan, the stadiums’ architecture and design are worth a visit. You can take a guided tour of the stadium to see behind-the-scenes areas, including the locker rooms and cheerleaders’ locker room. Also, I highly recommend checking out Texas Live for a sports game or just to bring family for a fun night out!
  2. Go on a Food Tour:
The DFW area is known for its diverse and delicious food scene. Take a culinary tour of the city’s best restaurants and food trucks to sample some of the local cuisine. You can try everything from Texas BBQ to Tex-Mex to international dishes from around the world.
  3. Explore the Fort Worth Stockyards:
The Fort Worth Stockyards is a historic district that celebrates the city’s cowboy heritage. Visitors can watch daily cattle drives, see a rodeo show, or visit one of the many western-themed shops and restaurants in the area.
   4. Go on a brewery tour:
The DFW area is a home to many great breweries, producing a wide variety of craft beers. Take a brewery tour to learn about the brewing process and sample some of the local beers. Some popular breweries to check out include Community Beer Company, Deep Ellum Brewing Company, and Peticolas Brewing Company.
   5. Go on a Ghost Tour:
DFW is known for its rich history, and what better way to explore that history than through a ghost tour? The DFW Ghost Tour is a thrilling experience that takes you on a journey through some of the most haunted locations in the area,      revealing the dark and mysterious past of the city.
During the tour, you will visit some of the most notorious haunted sites in DFW, including historic cemeteries, abandoned buildings, and spooky mansions. Each location has its own unique history and ghostly tales to tell, and your expert      guide will share these stories with you as you explore each site.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As I reflect on my journey as an entrepreneur, I can’t help but think about the role my mother played in shaping my mindset and approach to learning. Growing up, my mother instilled in me the value of learning for myself, and this lesson has been critical in helping my business continue to grow and thrive.
My mother was a teacher, and she always encouraged me to be curious, ask questions, and seek out knowledge. She taught me to be independent in my thinking and to not rely solely on what others tell me. Instead, she encouraged me to seek out answers on my own and to develop my own understanding of the world.
This lesson has been invaluable in my business journey. AS an entrepreneur, I have had to navigate a constantly evolving landscape, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt has been critical. By embracing my mother’s teaching, I have been able to stay on top of trends, anticipate challenges, and identify opportunities for growth.
Moreover, my mother’s emphasis on self-learning has enabled me to become a knowledgeable resource for my clients. When my clients come to me with questions or concerns, I am able to provide them with thoughtful, well-informed answers because I have taken the time to research and develop my own understanding of the issues at hand.
As I continue to grow my business, I am grateful for the lessons my mother taught me about learning for myself. Her guidance has helped me become a more independent thinker, a more knowledgeable resource, and a more successful entrepreneur. I hop to pass on these same lessons to others and inspire them to embrace their own curiosity and thirst for knowledge.
