We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesika La Rusch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesika, what do you want your legacy to be?
Dreamer, Ambition, Expectation, Hope, Humility; all words of the english language that I aspire to be remembered for everyday. My hope is my strength, it has fueled my ambition for something more in this life. Finding comfort in hope has allowed me to face uncertain times with posie but most importantly hope has paved the way for my dreams. A little hope and a lot of courage is all you need to make your dreams a reality. I want to give people hope for a better, healthier, pain free life. Through any situation I have encountered hope has been my light and my focus. The expectations I have for my life drive me to push everyday to live the life I know I was meant to lead. Humility reminds me of where I came from and pushes me to improve for myself, for my clients and for my family. I want my legacy to be a strong woman who conquered it all with hope.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At Peace Massage Co provides on site massage for individuals in their home or work place. Our mission is to help others take control of their health so they may live pain free making it possible for them to live their best lives. I am so excited to share that our services are growing and we hope to become a mobile wellness provider offering more than massage. I always had a passion for encouraging others to feel their best, so I took my friends advice and looked into the massage therapy program she mentioned. I couldn’t imagine giving back to my community in any other way. Over the past decade I have experienced how massage therapy positively influences lives. Working anywhere from inside a client’s home to big corporate events has really allowed me to grow as an individual as well as grow in my career as a Massage Therapist. In Home massage therapy not only sets me apart but it has allowed me to connect to my clients in ways I would have never dreamt. Since 2013 I have been so blessed to witness the changing lives of my clients. I have seen singles get married. I have seen families start as two and become 4! I have seen heartbreak, struggles, preservearance and how massage has helped each individual get through. I have seen my clients start their own businesses and clients whom have done what is necessary for their happiness and health. Oh, how incredibly humbling it is to be apart such beautiful lives. I am a big advocate of rest, I trust the healing power of touch, and I believe that massage is so much more than a luxury. Starting something new on your own is always a little scary and nerve racking. I didn’t want to take out a business loan so starting small was key for me. There was a little struggle through the growing phase, but I was able to get reorganized. I settled into a new routine that worked for the company as well as myself, making a good work – life balance. Recently with the current events it was a struggle to stay afloat but remaining hopeful and staying in contact with my clients helped me push through the restrictions. I refocused on my mission, rested and healed so I could return even better as before. Owning a business has always been a dream of mine. I was able to open At Peace Massage Co. with a lot of support from family and friends just 7 years ago as a mobile massage business. My team and I are hear to help you take control of your health!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love the Bishop Arts District. Paradiso has the most amazing atmosphere, food and drinks. I love seeing all the murals, all the inspirational quotes and the boutique shops!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is exciting. There are so many people that have been my support through my life and career. My mother, Dawn Bentley has reminded me time and time again who I am and what I can do. Her working her own Mary Kay business has been a constant inspiration for me to run my own business. She has shown me more ways than I can count on how to care for others and how to help them when they haven’t been able to help themselves. My girlfriend and her family have believed in me and supported every endeavor since first meeting me. Even if it turned out to be a teaching moment. The one person I have to really thank is my friend Jill (Luhnow) Wooten. During a time I did not know where to turn, Jill recommended a massage therapy program. I went to immediately look into it which lead me to enrolling. Almost 13 years later I am still helping others when they cannot help themselves.
