Question Chosen:

*What is the most important factor behind your success / the success of your brand?

” I would have to say, the most important factor behind my personal success along with the “God-Willing” success of my company & its future via “Price Royalty Publishing, LLC” is the fact that I remain:
authentic, consistent, relevant, and true to my business, partners, team, sponsors, talent, clients, fans, and followers. In general, “Price Royalty” is a brand in itself and I have huge plans or dreams for “PR aka Price Royalty”. Which, many of my future plans, thoughts, or ideas cannot be relayed due to them not being confirmed in detail yet or simply because I don’t want to jinx myself-perhaps?

However, I can say that the ultimate goal for “Price Royalty” is to create multiple outlets or various entities, catering to a plethora of industries, but in time with quality, carefully and strategically planned -not rushed. Also, something else that I would like to touch base on is the fact that I’m a Proud, “black woman, owning a small start-up business, hailing from one of the largest and most diverse cities within America. – Houston, Texas. So, if that doesn’t apply pressure for me to do the best I can, then it’s most likely applying stress, but not necessarily in a negative way, more of a family and friends type way, positive stress with minor pressure, it’s more so what I like to call “Goals”.

Although, if we really want to take it a step further, then just look at me and see the challenges I have had to face growing up till this day, and hopefully, as years pass racial and sexual barriers are broken down, but until then. I do feel 99.5% of the time I have to do things a bit better, practice or learn, basically go harder than nearly all of my counterparts, just to prove I am equally capable if not better. Yes, it’s sad, but I think many black, Latino, Asian anyone from another country…..well our parents 100% most likely instilled that mentality, as a preparation tactic, which is great…but sad. I suppose it’s more the whole black excellence thang & the She-Too type of movement. No, not Me Too, I know what you are thinking, but it just hit me to call this struggle we endure to be equal as men, is just that. Because a Female can do it, like men too attitude!

I guess, you could also say the pressure to begin the “Price Legacy” by being the best, first or simply surpassing others who may be doing the same thing as I speak, well the pressure has simply never been greater. After all, at the end of the day, I love music, media, entertainment, fashion, and more ….and what is that saying again? If you continue to do what you love, then you will feel as if you never worked a day in your life, right?  Therefore, yes that is a majority of my company/brand’s overall success factor.

Last, but not least: I am truly grateful and blessed to have such a great, friend, mentor, client, and business partner on my team by the name of Washington Ho, a reality TV star/actor from “House of Ho” on HBO Max, Serial Entrepreneur and Music Executive. Believe it or not, I have actually known

Washington Ho and his brother Reagan Ho for over the past 15 +years, we were all friends and hung out in the same circle of people for a while, my how the tables have turned lol. No, but in all seriousness, Washington has been a pivotal point in the rise of my brand’s success, in addition to linking myself to countless opportunities to prove not only myself but my worth. Everything Wash” has put in front of me, I have had to work just as hard as the next man or woman, nothing was handed but earned – and I like it that way. You can’t buy respect or loyalty, those are things in life that we all have to earn -regardless.”

What should our readers know about your business?
My bio with a bit added in, feel free to use what you want or reword anything, sorry my time is limited I hope you all understand.

Jeseka Price, songwriter, composer, A&R, and publisher. Price began working as a Talent PA for Viacom/CBS/BET at the 2018 BET Awards. She then began working on songwriting and collaborating with beat producers and decided to found her own publishing company, Price Royalty Publishing.

Along with being a publisher, Price is also an Executive Producer and A&R Talent Representative for Amada Records, a sub-label underneath HUSH Media Networks, as well as founder & editor of Jestificated Hip-Hop blog, ranked by Feedspot.com as Top #100 Hip-Hop Websites Globally since 2018-Present.

Also, yes many work /startup/lack of funding and shakey industry it is, but I never gave up because I believed in me and my brand, while I also have a huge passion for music so it was never really a job, so be prepared for the lows and lows if you ever want to get into this lovely world of music publishing.

**Accomplishments / Awards in regards to Musical Projects from 2020-2021 :

1.) Aint It by Groovie Selecta (World Music) Charted Peak #3 on iTunes Hot 100

2.) Soul Valley Compilation Album by Various Artists ( Thor Ingvi )- my
composer from Iceland was the last song on the R&B charting compilation. We charted Peak #2 I believe, also hitting the New Releases, Movers and Shakers, and BestSellers on Amazon Music.

3.) “Holly Anna Lisa (Trap Mix)” by Tyme, Lil’ Flip & Killa Kyleon hit #81 on the iTunes Top 100 Hip-Hop Charts.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, my favorite spots in the city would be everywhere – I even love the burbs! I honestly think Anywhere inside the loop- Just all of Houston really, it’s as lit as you can imagine. I mean from the River Oaks District to Washington Ave with all the club /lounges and then the Galleria for shopping. Last but not least there is downtown Houston which has been opening many new restaurants and venues for music safe experiences, shopping, networking, and more.

We really do have it all, except I can’t lie – we don’t have the pretty beaches but Galvez will do for some or take a road trip to South Padre Island or float the nice river in Austin – it’s prettier there, more rural and what you may expect from Texas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh -wow, this is so very appropriate, yes this new segment is very clever because those are often the names we don’t want to miss when explaining our stories, struggles, and winning streaks! Honestly, I think I actually covered who that would be, with respect to my current /upcoming roles, which is really a great time for me and my partner and friend,

I suppose I should be Shouting Out the following,:,

God, My Family ( My Mom, Brother, Sister, Mother & Father ), Washington Ho, Cortez Farris -put me on initially in the sync licensing game early on in 2020 with Broadjam also, Mercedes Funderburk, “My Cousin for being the big sis I needed, Rhiannon Wilkinson, and a few more m Friends
(Or the few I have left, because suddenly I became somewhat of a creative – introvert at times.
My Late GrandMothers who I know are both watching over me and my family from above.

I may be missing some names, HUSH Media Networks, Board of Directors/Trustees, Amada Records Execs Tiffany Gains, A&R Head -DJ Choice of the DJ Grid, along with another mentor along the way by the name of Riley Broussard III, (Manager of Pimp C from UGK Records) got some amazing industry game and help from him and Calvin Doc Flowers, (CEO of Chicago’s Raggae label: Manatee Records).

Please forgive me if I forgot a few names along the way but, grateful is an understatement when it comes to the shout-out and show love section, but yes that is the official list!

Anyhow, thank you so much “Shoutout DFW,” – I really do love your publications, in addition to the kind, request for an interview, So, I am def Looking forward to being a part of the upcoming issue & team!

Thank you,
Jeseka Price
