We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Buchanan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Blossom by Buchanan was created by Jasmine Buchanan. In 2023, Jasmine had a doctor appointment and learned she had a uterine fibroid along with a cyst, but had little to no knowledge about it. Doctors told her fibroids are common and she should be fine just “living” with this – basically, there is nothing they can do. She was recommend by her best friend to look into a functional medicine doctor – a doctor that uses a more holistic and natural approach to treat conditions. This is when her life changed.

She learned so much (and is continuing to learn) she wished she knew a long time ago. She changed all lifestyle habits (diet, exercise, mental, spiritual etc) and focused on healing from a holistic natural approach.

In just six months the cyst dissolved and the fibroid shrunk from 2.0cm to 1.2cm and is continuing to shrink. God is good ain’t he? The doctor couldn’t explain how the fibroid was continuing to get smaller and smaller, but she knew God gets the final say, not a doctor. This changed Jasmine’s perspective on health and looked into healing from natural things God created.

Fast forward a bit – Jasmine noticed her husband and Co-Founder, Clayton Buchanan had hair thinning in the crown area, so she began to do research on what natural ingredients and herbs could reverse this.

She created the blended oil (what is now known as Blossom by Buchanan), tested it on herself and Clayton, and saw growth within weeks. The thinning was completely gone within four months! She started to test it on family and friends and they were all amazed by similar results.

Jasmine wanted to keep her oil blend more so on a small sized scale, but everyone finally convinced her to start a business due to how many people she was helping.

The Buchanan’s goal is to help as many people as possible obtain healthy hair, using only natural and organic ingredients of what God has blessed us with.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am actually planning an itinerary for my best friend when she visits me in October. We’re both very excited because Fall is our favorite time of the year. Our itinerary is going to look a little something like this

Friday
– Visit the pumpkin patch and grab dinner at Drake’s.

Saturday
– Go to the State Fair and spend all day there. Try the famous corndogs!

Sunday
– brunch at Common Table for their Hip Hop brunch.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shoutout my mom for continuing to support and motivate me as a business owner. Growing up my mom had 4 kids, a husband and two jobs. She had her regular 9-5 and then found passion in Real Estate. Looking back I’m not sure how she was able to do all of that at once. Sounds like Superwoman to me, right?! My mom motivated me as I have a my 9-5 and now my business with Blossom by Buchanan. My mom has motivated me to stay the course, work hard and put God first. I can’t wait to repay her for all she has done for me.
