We had the good fortune of connecting with Janeé Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Janeé, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Belief is absolutely the most crucial key to my success. Belief in myself, belief in my team, and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ has afforded me once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
For instance, I sold my first television series to a network without any television producer experience, but I had a lot of belief in the team around me. When I held my first “live” press conference (which was covered by The Today Show and Good Morning America), I prepared as much as I could but had no idea what questions the media was going to ask. I relied on my belief in myself and my abilities as a spokesperson. Now, as my husband and I are venturing into the unknown with a huge real estate development opportunity, we are relying on a power greater than ourselves, and for us, that power comes through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Going from a small town girl who dreamt about being on television to taking multiple television series from script to screen was possible only through the power of belief. Don’t believe me? I dare you to try it. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. Truly anything is possible if you only believe.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Currently, my husband and I are venturing into some exciting, uncharted waters. We came out to our lakehouse on Lake Nocona, TX, from Dallas to quarantine during the pandemic and never returned. We started an outdoor adventure company, www.goodtimes-adventures.com, hosted a myriad of retreats, camps and getaways, and acquired massive amounts of residential property to develop. We’ve discovered that there are many benefits to life outside of the city and look forward to helping people experience it with us.
Pre-pandemic, I was blessed with a diverse background as a business performance consultant, Executive coach, motivational speaker/author, and television/ event producer and director. I started my career many moons ago (too many to count), working in the leadership development/ performance analysis space. Basically, my job was helping individuals, departments/teams and companies get from where they were to where they wanted to be by identifying the root cause/ problems and developing solutions for overcoming “said” issues.
After many years in that field, I launched a production company, mHe3 Productions, to feed my creative soul and help clients with media and marketing needs. mHe3 Productions also produced a number of television series; designed to use media to make a difference.
In addition to mHe3 Productions, I run a women’s mastermind group (Women of Excellence), designed to be a safe, supportive place for women to take off the mask, collaborate, and learn and grow. Finally, I am the Founder of H3 Ministries, a 501(c)3 committed to sharing the hope, help, and healing power of Christ through media, live events, resources/ publications, and mentorship. Some of H3 Ministries’ programs include S.E.E., a 28-day self-esteem program for girls ages 7-17; and the book, Diary of an Unbroken Heart. www.h3ministries.org
My style combines compassion and confrontation (yes, I discuss the tough stuff) in an effort to be a conduit for change. What that means in practical terms is Heart + Head + Hard = Help in getting where you (or your organization) wants to be. I’m a Dream Activator, of sorts.
I am passionate about change and growth! Why? Because I have experienced quite a bit of transformation in my own life (both personally and professionally) and know REAL CHANGE and LASTING RESULTS are possible! While I LOVE my work, my REAL LOVE is my faith in Jesus Christ and my incredible family. We are a blended family (which brings its own set of unique opportunities) and parents of the sweetest, curly blonde haired boy (need I say more?). My personal motto: “Believe! Anything is possible; let the journey begin.”
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Nocona, TX, is a small town with big fun. Just 1.5 hours North of the Dallas Fort Worth area, Nocona boasts a wide-array of family-friendly fun. From its famed Chisholm Trail & Western heritage and its well-established leather industries, to its classic car venues and family-friendly activities, Nocona continues to attract visitors and businesses alike. Get a pair of authentic cowboy boots at the Fenoglio Boot Company, tour the esteemed Horton’s Classic Car Museum, grab a beer at the Old Nocona Brewery, or enjoy time on the lake and in the great outdoors with Good Times – Adventures. While you’re here, stay at the Red River Station Inn, where every room is as unique as you are. Nocona, TX, maybe a little town, but its people have hearts as big as Texas.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am so grateful for my incredible mentors and friends, Ed and Valerie Riefenstahl with The Alternative Board of Fort Worth, Debbie Rasa with Rasa Floors, Shana Franklin, Jennifer Honeycutt, and last but certainly not least, my parents, Dr. M.E. and Debby Harrell. These people believed in me when there was nothing to show for it. They challenged me to become the person they knew I could be. They guided, directed, and afforded me opportunities to help me be my best. Because of these individuals, I was inspired to start my own mentoring program for women, Women of Excellence. Women of Excellence is designed to be a safe, supportive, collaborative community for high-achieving women to learn and grow. Through this platform, women have started their own companies, obtained high-level promotions, and left corporate jobs to pursue passions.
