We had the good fortune of connecting with Evelina Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Evelina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was raised in a home where my parents ended up splitting ways when I was 18. I had a hardened look at love and what it meant. I was also raised in a Christian home and my faith is everything to me and is what got me through such a hard time. God sparked a light in me and presented the opportunity to go to The Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula Montana, it was there that I learned so much and pushed myself out of my comfort zone, and pursued photography.
I am a cowgirl through and through, the Western lifestyle is everything to me, and through my photography, I can preserve that! So, putting my talent that God gave me, my love for the Western lifestyle, and the opportunity to document people in love, I jumped off into the deep end and went for it.
This business has become a voice for God and His word, a way for me to believe in love again, and allows me to document other people who love the Western lifestyle just as much as I do!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
This journey is not for the faint of heart. I was raised to chase my dreams and give it 110%, and to work hard even when it is a task that I’m not extremely fond of. The Western lifestyle sets my soul on fire, there is just something about someone going outside to take care of animals, farming the land, and providing a way of life with their own hands. You will never find a harder working, kind, dedicated person than those in the Western industry. I can say that because that is how my family makes a living, and I am just lucky to get to be a part of it.
My photography speaks true to who you are, documenting you for your real raw beauty. No extreme edits, just warm, true-to-tone, fly-on-the-wall.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, we would first go to an amazing coffee shop and edit and work on our business. She is a photographer too! Then we would go to the Fort Worth Zoo, cause it’s such a fun place. I would take her to Twisted Root, the best burger place ever. Go for a walk in a park. We both love being outside, so anything with fresh air and sunshine is all we need.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family deserves a huge shoutout! They have supported me all the way. The Rocky Mountain School of Photography is where has given me the tools to run a successful business, create connections, and help me showcase my love for photography. Most importantly God is the reason I am here and have the love for photography in the first place. Without Him I wouldn’t be where I’m at. He is the reason I get to document His beautiful creations!
