We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Galvan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Growing up when asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” my answer was always a business woman, I was told “No you don’t want that its boring! Don’t you want to be a nurse or a teacher or something?” Their suggestion was always generalized as a female style career. I was told that a business woman has a boring job and stuck in an office all day. I knew I wanted to be a different type of business woman, one who isn’t in an office and her ventures were limitless. For instance Cindy Crawford was a name that I often heard growing up, she was everywhere! As I got older, hearing and seeing Oprah and Beyoncé, they were not just 1 thing. All 3 of these women had several business, from tv, movies, makeup, fashion, magazines, singing, fragrance lines there was no end to what a business woman can do. You don’t have to be bound to one thing. Where ever you feel are needed, there will always be a spot for you, and someone might be waiting for it. I am inspired by the way these multitalented woman have created a space for young women to build businesses and breaking the stereo types of what a strong business owner looks like.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart is my ability to make a space for myself. From a young age, I would make my own path and lived outside of others expectations. I didn’t have a specific niche, I still don’t. Being a perfectionist by nature, my craft is always evolving along with the ever changing world of beauty. Other jobs made me feel I was working in fast food, it was about the number of clients I could squeeze in the day. The art, the craft, and the passion slipped through the cracks. I wanted to create a space where me and other artists can focus on growing in our art.

After graduating high school, I began my journey in the beauty industry. My passion for learning has continuously motivated my to expand her knowledge on all things skin and beauty.

During my early career as a wax specialist and makeup artist, I found a love for building relationships with long term clients, education them, and helping them to reach their skincare goals.

Within the next year I started working working at a lash studio part time and it sparked a new passion and another way for making my clients feel radiant and walk in confidence. Later down the road I stepped into the world of Permanent makeup. I was ready for my knowledge of skin, makeup talent, and passion for enhancing natural beauty to all come together and change lives, one eyebrow at a time.

Right before I went out on my own, I was very fortunate to apprentice under someone who had over 10 years experience in the beauty industry. I am very grateful that she poured so much wisdom and knowledge into me, all because she saw my drive and passion. That being said, it was still far from easy. I was still trying to build my clientele and my reputation for the area. Being so young, it was harder for some people to take me serious, even some family members don’t fully understand my career. All of that on top of only being in business for barley 5 weeks before we had to shut down due to Covid-19.

By the grace of God and our amazing core clients, we were able to bounce back and we haven’t stopped since.

I’ve learned to sit back and trust the process. I’ve also mastered the art of putting your head down while working your ass off. Keep quite and let our work for itself because its louder than anything you could ever say.

I want the world to know that everyone deserves to feel beautiful. Having great skin, fabulous lashes, and bomb brows is a lifestyle that everyone should get the chance to be apart of. I take pride in creating an environment that is inclusive and empowering to everyone who walks into our studio. Our team of highly skilled artists strive for excellence and hold ourselves accountable to exceed expectations through education, creativity, and personal connections. What really sets us apart is our ability to not only provide great services, but to create a memorable experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For their first day I would take them to The Stock Yards. We would start with watching the cattle drive, probably pose with a few horses. Then we would go to down town Fort Worth for some Rodeo Goat, they have the best burgers and coldest beers ever. Order some loaded fries to go, and maybe hit up the Coyote drive in and watch a double feature. Next day Start off with the obligatory Buc-ee’s trip to load up on merch and snacks. Shopping and Tanger outlet, maybe dinner at Fred’s for more super good burgers, fries, and margaritas. If their down for a late night adventure we might do some go-karts at Route 377 in Haltom city. and End the night with some Whataburger.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business partner, also known as the Goddess who gave me life, Charisse Galvan deserves all the credit in the world. She raised me and my siblings to be smart, driven, respectful, good citizens, who love unconditionally. All while being incredibly successful at any field she felt called to. How she does it all is a mystery to me but she truly is the strongest person I know. We would make jokes about her running my office when I was younger, so I took her up on that offer 2 years ago. I’m very thankful that she trusts and believes in me enough to drop everything and be my business partner. She is my right hand lady, she keeps me sane and organized. She manages the office, the books, front desk, scheduling, ordering supplies, the list is never ending. She is the other half of my brain. I still learn something new from her everyday. Her hard work has allowed her to quickly move up the chain of management in every job she’s had. Her customer service skills are out of this world. Coming into work, seeing her smile and light up when talking to clients has been the highlight of my life. I’m so blessed have an amazing Mom and business partner like her.
