We had the good fortune of connecting with Twentyspinz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Twentyspinz, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
First is being able to do something I actually want to do. Building something that I could possibly pass to my kids and most importantly, not being limited to making a certain amount of money working for someone else..

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Dj / Producer/ Influencer / Business owner located in Dallas. I relocated to Dallas in 2014 from Atlanta, GA where I did promotions for Hot 107.9 for a few years until the artist I was working with landed major record deals with Universal and Warner Bro. Via Jerry Clark and 1972 ent… That opened up doors for me to meet and work with many artists that went on to do big things and still doing big things in the music and entertainment industry… I relocated back to Dallas and became 1 of the most popular club / mixtape Djs and music influencers. I’ve also produced a couple of projects with Dallas artist C Money Waters thats available on all music platforms. I moved to Dallas to be more active and present in my kids life and also got married. Needless to say, It was not and still is not easy especially considering everything thats being going on with Covid. Its a constant balancing act to basically home school the kids and schedule work around the wife’s work schedule (who’s considered an essential worker.) Never the less, the time has made me more focused than ever. Instead of constantly running around I’ve had time to sit down, organize and write out my plans and move accordingly. 1 thing I’ve learned over the past few years is I don’t have to be everywhere all the time… Only the places that are beneficial for me to be there business wise or socially.. I am currently finishing up 2 projects I am releasing this year, an EP and a album which I’m really excited about and I’m still Djing private events, listening partys and doing guest Dj sets.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely Turkey D.a.m, True Kitchen and Pangea to name a few of the popular eating spots. Opera has a really good dinner concept on Fridays and Saturday b4 the club starts… As far as partys, 5 am club, any CoOp or Incrowd event, Sundays at Level/ Sidebar w/Throne group… To name a few places I’d go.. Honestly the city is wide open, everybody’s got something going on… Other that that I like Klyde Warren Park, Cowboys or Mavs games.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Deville Burns open the door for me in Dallas once I moved back from Atlanta after 14 years.. Mt. Hermon #002 Masonic Lodge in Atlanta, GA… where I met some good Brothers that I can still call on til this day and also reinforced values I already believed like carrying myself in a upright manner, being honest and doing good business..
