We had the good fortune of connecting with David Arvisu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would say the single most important factor behind my success is never giving up. It doesn’t matter if there are 2 people at my show or 100, I always do my best to give the best performance possible no matter who is watching and listening.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Singer/Songwriter from Dallas, Texas. I have been writing music since I was thirteen years old. I think what sets me apart from others is the content of my music and the over sound. It’s so hard to classify myself into a music genre because I feel like I have my own unique take on songwriting. My songs have landed me many gigs and shows with ease. I’d say the greatest challenge for me would be managing my time. It’s difficult for me when there’s shows that conflict on the same dates and I have to turn down gigs that prefer for me to play cover songs; as I prefer to perform my own original music. I take pride in my songwriting style as I feel it is special and that others have been influenced in a positive way by listening which makes me what to reach a greater audience so that everyone may enjoy what I have to offer.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in the Dallas metroplex. There’s many places here to perform and eat and simply have a great time. My first stop would be the Opening Bell open mic. It’s there where the finest artists/singers in DFW gather to showcase our talent and admire what this great city has to offer music-wise.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my producer and co-writer, Bryan Fulton of Ayers Affect Audio. He is the mastermind behind my latest album and helps me become a better musician and writer by pushing me to my limits and seeing things from a different perspective.
