We had the good fortune of connecting with Chimeka Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chimeka, one of the most rewarding things about getting to know so many entrepreneurs and creatives is seeing first-hand how many of them are focused on so much more than just financial results. So many of the folks we connect with are focused on having a positive social impact on their community or the world at large. Can you talk to us about how you are helping the community?
We founded Philanthropy Partners with the mission to help nonprofit organizations, charitable businesses and individuals enhance there social impact and create lasting change. We assist our partners by identifying tools and resources they need to increase their charitable intent. Since our launch on Giving Tuesday in 2019, we have bolstered awareness and funding for various social issues plaguing our communities. We created a fundraising campaign to support three organizations making an impact in the areas of human trafficking, African American male leadership and disadvantaged youth. We also have a consulting partnership with a national organization providing food for frontline workers and vulnerable populations during the coronavirus pandemic. We have been the leader in identifying and facilitating the distribution of meals to targeted populations such as homeless teens and families, unsung frontline heroes and underserved populations throughout southern sector of Dallas. To move the needle on racial equality, Philanthropy Partners will participate in one of 23 research projects receiving funding for anti-racism effort. The project will focus on grooming black youth for leadership excellence using video gaming.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Philanthropy Partners is a philanthropy consulting company that brings people together to grow goodwill and increase opportunities for individuals and communities to thrive. We are driven by excellence and sustaining measurable outcomes. Making a difference in the world is not an easy task. The greatest challenge has been launching the firm. Each partner in the business has a successful career in their respective fields. We have always wanted to join forces to increase social impact but it took several years to make it happen. We eventually realized that everything did not have to be perfect. The beauty of a partnership is that it is a team effort. Working together we could actually do more and make a bigger impact. We are so grateful that we did not wait any longer. In 2020, the year of unpredictability, we were afforded a variety of opportunities to consult with groups meeting the needs of communities during the pandemic. We have fostered new relationships that continue to increase our resource network for our clients!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My success is due in large part to my faith and the teachings of my pastor Dr. Tony Evans at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church. As Christians, we are called to love others. Love is experienced through action. I believe my purpose is to help make love and compassion visible in the world. Bringing people together to meet the needs of our communities is the driving force behind Philanthropy Partners and the work I do personally. The goal to connect people and organizations to lift others. I recognize the the value of helping individuals succeed. Empowering one person to reach their full potential can ultimately impact a family, a community, a nation and humanity as a whole.
