We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caroline, what role has risk played in your life or career?
To me, the biggest risk of all is looking back on my life and wondering “what if?” There came a time when the risk of leaving my full-time office job to pursue my passion was less terrifying than just coasting in a job that I absolutely hated for the rest of my life. Risk is how we access our next level. And if my life lessons have taught me one thing it’s that I’d rather risk it all and fail than not even try. What should our readers know about your business?
When I first became a full-time pole dance instructor, I was doing all the things I was “supposed” to do: teaching 6-8 hours a day, doing all the admin work myself, and promoting my classes and workshops non-stop. A few months into this I was exhausted, burnt-out, and ready to throw in the towel and sulk my way back into 9-5 life. But I decided to first try something different. I decided to take my skill-set and create an online course that I could sell to my students in bulk. And it blew up! All of a sudden I was making more money than I ever did in my office job and I was basically online working 10 hours a week. I never thought that online courses around pole dancing would take off so fast. So, I repeated the process over and over, and saw even more incredible results again and again. I thought, “why isn’t everyone doing this?!” So I embarked on a new journey in my business; an area of pole dance that has never really been taught or talked about…business. I became obsessed with helping other pole dance instructors diversify their offers with online courses and programs so that they too could experience the freedom, income, and impact that this business model has offered me. I have made it my mission to help creatives like me believe that their art is worth something, their dreams are worth following, and they deserve all the abundance and prosperity they could ever imagine. I love this industry more than anything and I’m dedicated to helping elevate the community into a new paradigm of leadership, wealth, and creativity.Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Dallas and the sights and attractions it has to offer. I would recommend visiting the Ninja Warrior gym for a fun activity and the Reunion Tower for dinner and seeing the sights. Dallas also has a diverse performing arts scene: Viva Dallas Burlesque is a favorite of mine. Their shows are phenomenal always a fun time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The pole community is a huge support system for me. They’ve become like my sisters and have encouraged me and had my back throughout all my crazy decisions.
