We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryson Hennington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryson, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think taking risk is one of the biggest components of growth. People think they know the outcome of something but once they try it they are completely blown away and wonder why they were so scared in the first place. I decided I wasn’t going to let the fear of not knowing control my life; because most of the time it was damaging me. If I would have never taken a dance class I would have never knew the potential I have as professional dancer and Artist. I think taking risk is one of the biggest reason why I do what I do now. I think as humans we want to feel safe and secure, and I get that but some of the best things that life has to offer is on the other side of fear! I would rather spend the rest of my life fighting for something I want than wasting my time with something I don’t. Risk it all responsibly lol.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think I’m always trying to stay true to myself and not always following a trend. Trying to not let others influence my decision and have a mind of my own. I think that’s what can set anybody apart. I think the thing I’m most proud of as I kind of said before is I know who I am and I know what I want out of life. I’m always trying to grow myself and be better everyday. I think what makes me more excited is the thought of reaching my full potential and how dangerous I could be when that happens. I not where I want to be yet professional but I’m definitely getting there but even getting this far is not easy. It’s literally pushing for something that nobody really believes in until you get all the pieces together. What makes me keep going is knowing. is just knowing I meant for something greater than myself and not neglecting the talents God has given me. Some of the most important lesson I’ve learned a long the way I would say is to be you 100 percent. You’ll get further in life that way! I just want the world to know, that you got one life so just live it!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom and cousin both played very pivotal roles in my growth. They were are always just there for me and always making me feel like whatever I wanted to do was possible, I just needed to work for it. They were the ones I could always talk to when I needed help and needed someone to just listen which helped a lot.
