We had the good fortune of connecting with Britt Lienau and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britt, what do you attribute your success to?
Empathy. If you can not pour love into your client whether that’s through presence , attitude , work or words I feel you may need to re-evaluate where you’re heart lies. To be able to feel someone’s energy and know how to adapt to bring happiness or ease to themselves is an art in itself. Whether you can do a great job at hair and makeup is irrelevant to me if you can not be kind. We are called to love , what talents we are given is our chance to be the light in a world that can be dark.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Choosing what I categorize myself as ,is somewhat impossible because I have been and am so much creative my whole life and career. Every day is a new canvas in which I create a new piece of work on someone’s face or hair. Most importantly their heart. I’ve learned being in the beauty industry all these years that you can NOT make everyone happy. What a pill to swallow as an empath. It literally use to tear my heart to pieces when someone wasn’t nice or What I created was not what they imagined. Though it isn’t the best feeling with time, I became prepared and understanding. To know you do your best, and are good enough and should be enough for you even if it isn’t for another. My brand is myself. I have to make sure my mentality and physical ability are at peace and appreciated and that means having value in my worth. I’m not a service, I’m a human being and, I am good.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Definitely Greenville Pizza Co! Big slices, amazing taste and prices ! Of course a little top golf ends everyday perfectly!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God first and foremost. I would not be where or who I am without his grace and plan. Secondly, my husband. What a man who has breathed life into me when I didn’t even know I was lacking the air to give me the want to be more. To my family, whether that be blood or not that has shown such pride in me. Last but not least, my grandmother whom I wouldn’t have wild ideas and a wondering soul for adventure without.
