We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Tucker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I started my photography business I was still in college, so I was balancing shoots, involvement on campus, classes, as well as, 2 other jobs and a social life. Balance is definitely something that has come with time management. Now, I work full-time as the Marketing Coordinator and photographer for Twisted X, as well as, still running my photography business. It is important to not only work hard and be ambitious, but to not over work yourself or miss out on life. When I have nothing to do, I am working. However, if I get invited to do something, most of the time I say yes because I don’t want to miss out on life. I get my work done when I have free time so that I can do spur of the moment things. Does it always work out like that? No, not always. I keep a very detailed planner that has everything in it from shoots to birthdays and every thing in between so I have that balance between work and fun. I am still trying to find time for personal improvement, but I will get there one day. My balance hasn’t changed all that much, my work is just different now.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In 2018, I started taking pictures of friends just because I had always liked photography. Before I knew it, I had multiple shoots booked and was growing and progressing more and more. I am proud of myself for just jumping in to it and sticking with it all while working 2 jobs and being a full-time college student. Today, I work full-time as a marketing coordinator and photographer for Twisted X while doing photography still. I am proud of how far my work has come and has morphed in to this beautiful thing. I think my photos set me apart because they are interesting and colorful and make people feel their best. That’s all I want at the end of the day is for my client to feel pretty. It was not easy to get to where I am now and it required a lot of sacrifice and hard work, but I wouldn’t change it. I have met so many people and have had a lot of amazing opportunities because of it. Without my photography, I wouldn’t have the full time job I do now. I have overcame many challenges by just pushing through it and doing my best. I’ve learned that if you keep working hard and putting yourself in positions to succeed and have doors open for you then good things will happen. Practice makes perfect and I am learning and progressing every day. I may never be as good as I want to be, but I am working hard to be as good as I can be. I want the world to know that if you want to do something, then just do it! Ask questions, take a class, meet people and put yourself in positions to have doors open for you! I built my photography business from the ground up. I started by using my moms camera before I could save up to buy my own. I did this all on my own. Seize every opportunity and live with purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I grew up in Joshua, TX which is not far from Fort Worth and just moved to Fort Worth in February so I am still figuring out all of the places to go, however, my favorite place to go out is the Stockyards. I would take them to the new bar called Second Rodeo. We would probably go eat and hang out at Chimy’s on 7th or Los Vaqueros in the Stockyards. If there was a concert going on I would probably take her to Billy Bobs and it would be fun to hang out in the area at the back of Hotel Drover.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When it comes to my full-time job as Marketing Coordinator and Photographer, I wouldn’t be where I am without Katie Armstrong. She is the PR for American Hat Company. She is the one that recommended me to Twisted X. She has been my mentor through this new position and role model.
