We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Serrano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We started Messiah Texas because we saw the need for high quality, high energy, Christ centered events. We knew there was a need to meet and that Texas was the place to do it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are so proud of the steps we have made moving forward. We started in the Summer of 2015 as a summer youth camp.
But then knew God wanted more.
So we added a winter camp.
Now in 2021 we added young adult retreats, and for the first time in 2022 we will be hosting our own Feast of Tabernacles.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When our leadership team gets together for team building and planning sessions there are some great places for us to do so in the DFW area. Breakfast at the Ol’ South Pancake House in Fort Worth or The Biscuit Bar in Arlington. Lunch spots we love are Hopdoddy Burger Bar or Torchy’s Taco’s. For dinner we will Fns ourselves at either Pappasito’s for some great Mexican, or Rickey’s BBQ for all you can eat beef ribs. Then for activities – Cidercade in Dallas, Splinters, Axes, & Ales in Fort Worth, The Secret Chambers – Arlington, iFly indoor sky diving in Frisco.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The story of Messiah Texas is only possible because Ty Porter, Brandon Darby, and Brian Serrano were obedient to the call to start a youth camp in Texas. They had all felt it, and the late Brad Scott was a huge catalyst in pushing forward for it. Then the three wives (Randi Porter, Jessica Darby, and Kim Serrano) jumped on board and the initial leadership team was formed.
