Hi Brenda, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
My availability and responsiveness to my clients has absolutely been the cornerstone to my success. In a world of instant gratification and google, it is expected; however, not always received. I also have an investigative mind, this coupled with my good listening skills is what is imperative to designing a customized itinerary based on my clients travel dreams.
What should our readers know about your business?
My style of one on one verbal communication and personal insights have helped set me apart, as has my availability to clients. Knowing and listening to travel dreams and preferences has given me the advantage of truly personalizing my service. This is what sells travel. I believe that in order to speak to a destination that you have to have first hand experience. I travel extensively so that I know how to plan travel for my clients. This ensures that I not only know the best routes, the best drivers and the best hotel locations; but that I also have a clear understanding of what can go wrong and how to avoid this for my clients. After working for a Dallas based resort company for more than 20 years where I held the role of vice president of customer relations and reservations, I knew that my strategy for success would come from first had travel experiences and building relationships with travel partners around the world. I quickly began traveling, attending webinars and trade events, such as Virtuoso Travel Week. This has proved to serve me well; as I now have relationships that give me an edge when I have a special request for a client. With a constant eye on new destinations and products I continue to refine my skills. The world is constantly changing, especially now! I have been an advocate for my clients during this extremely unpredictable time. Watching for changes to cancellation policies that were coming daily and sometimes hourly; my clients did not have to make a single phone call or wait on hold for a single minute. I am currently doing this for them; all while keeping their best interest in mind.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh my, there have been so many! Networking has been key to my success and my membership with the Southlake Chamber has been a valuable resource in regards to meeting and building relationships with other small business owners. My husband has also been very supportive and understanding; as my availability and responsiveness to my clients has meant long hours on nights and weekends and many interrupted meal times!
