We had the good fortune of connecting with Beverly Nina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beverly, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind my business has always changed and evolved since I started back in 2017, but my drive/goal behind each business has always been the same: to help women go after their purpose and dreams despite whatever fear or obstacle they may encounter.

What should our readers know about your business?
Propel Coaching Academy is a program that I created to help women build a profitable life coaching business from SCRATCH. I’ve always been so passionate about helping women achieve their goals and to go after their purpose. I once was in a long-term physically abusive relationship and although I had left that toxic environment, I still struggled with obstacles like self-love and living in my purpose. So I took time to learn about myself and then began sharing my story, and speaking about faith and what God was teaching me about myself in hopes that it would encourage and help someone to leave behind the things that were stopping them from pursuing their purpose.

Fast forward, during the pandemic, I felt a tug to embark on the journey of life coaching. So, I enrolled in a life coaching school called FourStreams School of Coaching to become trained and certified. I had the pleasure of coaching women to become their fullest version of themselves and to overcome their obstacles. The more I coached, the more I realized that there were so many people out there who needed transformation that I wouldn’t be able to reach.

That’s when Propel Coaching Academy was birthed. In this program, I get to train women on the fundamentals of life coaching and help them start their own profitable life coaching business so that they can create an impact in their community and those they are called to reach.

Where I have landed took time, I wish it was as short as the read of this article but it took years from when I first started writing down my visions to where I am now. And to be 100% transparent, there are still many days when I feel unqualified, days when I doubt if I’ll ever get another client, days when quitting seems so much easier than staying the course and going over the hurdles that come my way.

The lessons i’ve learned throughout this journey are three things:
You need a community of people. We were not meant to do things alone. It was when I started opening up about my vision with my business, that I received help along the way, ideas that I couldn’t come up with on my own, and encouragement on the hardest days. Who are your support people?
You are always evolving. As you evolve so will your business, don’t be afraid to make changes along the way or to scrap an idea and rebuild a new one.
Believe in yourself. We are more than capable than what we usually give ourselves credit for. But if you continue to doubt your gift, you will never see those visions you wrote down, turn into your reality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely, the first thing we would do is grab a bit at Halycon, their smoked salmon avocado toast is a banger. Then we would go explore downtown Dallas, though I was born and raised in the DFW area, I never really explored much of Dallas. After walking around downtown we would go for lunch at The Henry, enjoy a nice spa day at the Ritz Carlton and then finish up the day with dinner at Elephant East.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today if I did things alone. This dedication is to the following people who have shaped me into becoming the woman I am today.

These people are, but are not limited to:
My sweet husband B’kem who challenges me every single day to never stop dreaming and believing in myself. He brings so much creativity and insight into the ideas that I have and he never thinks my dreams are too crazy or wild. He sees all the amazing things inside of me that can be hard for me to see in myself at times. To my beautiful parents, who literally groomed me in the best way they could in order for me to have the best life, I adore them. To my amazing siblings Lessley, Esther, and Lovelyn who continue to support and encourage me through every adventure I ever mentioned to them, they are my biggest cheerleaders. To my girlfriends who also happen to be my business friends Jasmine & Cynthia, we dream together, go after our goals together, and encourage each other like no other, our friendship has taught me so much about my own business. I’ve gained so much clarity and insight on how to cultivate what God has put into my hands. To my best friends who truly are like my sisters Chisom and Liz, they’ve witnessed me being at my lowest/darkest times and would always make sure that I remembered how far I’ve come and how much further I will go. And of course to my main man God, who gave me purpose, talent, and a gift to use to help other women in their journeys.
