Meet Aryan Bhattacharya | Student

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aryan Bhattacharya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aryan, how does your business help the community?
Our project utilizes machine learning and social media to help people understand and flag signs of depression and anxiety. Depression is a condition that affects all types of people from all across the world, but one of the most affected demographics are teens. So I thought that it would be best to find a way to derive a pattern from online media (the place teens spend the most time) and use machine learning to make that process clearer.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At the time of writing this, I’m a senior in high school, but what really defines my team and our work building Clarity AI isn’t our age, but our constant obsession with solving problems and building tools to make our communities better. Clarity AI uses machine learning to detect early signs of depression for social media patterns: a key step in helping those unheard be seen. Building something at this scale was far from easy however. We had inconsistent datasets, unstable models, and a constant ethical dilemma while coding.
But if there’s one thing that we all learned, it show perseverance isn’t a personality trait, but rather a skill. Every failure was a new design, a new trial, and overall a better way to server real users. What I’m most proud of is that this project didn’t come from a lesson plan, but rather from the genuine belief that AI should protect (not replace) people.
What I want the world to know is that Clarity AI isn’t just a tool. It’s a reminder that technology should be used to catch people before they fall, and that the most impactful innovations can with a simple question: “How can I help?”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day One
Start at the Aussie Grind → best brunch in Frisco (in my opinion)
Walk around The Star → Dallas Cowboys HQ, great photos + shops
Grab dinner at Cane Rosso → Neapolitan pizza
Dessert at Cow Tipping Creamery → beautiful soft serve
Day two:
Legacy West stroll → the most “modern city vibes” area in all of North Dallas
Lunch at Food Hall or Haywire → Texas comfort food
Boba at Tiger Sugar or 85°C Bakery
Evening at Legacy North patios → live music, great ambience
Day three:
Perot Museum of Nature & Science → hands-on exhibits + insane architecture (my favorite)
Klyde Warren Park → food trucks + chill green space over the freeway
Dallas Museum of Art → free, always surprisingly good
Dinner at SUGARFIRE BBQ or Pecan Lodge (Deep Ellum)
Walk around Deep Ellum → murals + live music
Day four:
IFLY Indoor Skydiving (Frisco)

Korean BBQ dinner at Gen or Jinbop in Carrollton
Day five:
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve → sunrise hike
Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden → best greenery + lake views
Dinner at Sixty Vines → vineyard vibes with amazing pasta

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would want to give the biggest shoutout to my team. Daniel Hoffmaster, Peilun Li, Kyle Liu, Ishaant Majumdar, and John Tad Tolbert. This project was by no means a solo task and collaborating with this stellar team is what made this dream turn into a real project. Having them work besides me and collaborate to turn this piece of code into something that’s changed real lives is truly something that deserves more than a shoutout.
