We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre’ Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andre’, what principle do you value most?
The values and principles that matter to me the most are integrity and accountability. I serve my customers with the same integrity that I served my country while I was in the United States Navy. I build personal relationships with customers and clients to ensure that I am serving their needs and giving them the freedom to create their own menus. I pride myself in holding myself accountable in providing a high quality catering/private chef experience when working with Mother Lucille Catering.
What should our readers know about your business?
Mother Lucille Catering was built on the foundation, faith and legacy of my Grandmothers taught me. What sets me apart from others is my culinary military training. It has provided me a different outlook into the culinary world by having to prepare meals for 5,000 people three times a day to being invited to cook at the White House on two separate occasions. My experience allows me to also be able to incorporate fresh new ideas to traditional recipes. I got to where I’m today with a great support system, and learning from my Chef Mentors Chef Meka Johnson (Chef Mini J) & Chef Kevin Johnson (Taste By Chef Kevin). It has been very challenging, but the promise I made to my Grandmother (Lucille) before she passed. That I was going to name my business after both of my Grandmother’s ( Mother Lucille Catering). That I’m going to keep her name alive and put it up in the big lights someday. That keep me working hard to reach my goals.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Depending the time of year we would go to a sporting event and a games or two( Rangers, Stars, Mavericks, & Cowboys). Maybe do the party bike pub crawl, Dallas CityPass, Sea Life Aquarium, Reunion Tower, Casino, Dallas Scavenger Hunt. We would have to get some of the best BBQ in Dallas at Smokey John’s BBQ. We must have Tacos & Tequila
There is always someone coming to Dallas having a concert so that is a must
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to recognize my grandmothers, Rose (Mother) Langham, and Lucille Mitchell, of whom my catering business is named after. My parents, Earl L. Mitchell, and Lynda Mitchell, for giving me the tools and the values of life. My brothers for sharing a special bond. We have shared laughter, motivation, and tears throughout life. All of the wonderful fellow Navy vets that I’ve served with and built comradery with. All of those mentioned above have played a major role into shaping the man I am today. Special shoutout to everyone that has supported Mother Lucille Catering in the past and as we continue to grow.
