We had the good fortune of connecting with Allie Ronquillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In college, and life in general, I’ve always taken the conventional route. Great degree, lead to great job opportunity at huge company and subsequent financial security. Everything was awesome until my husband got an incredible opportunity himself. He was called by his company to relocate to sunny Texas. When we did so, our family had a fresh start but I had to leave my secure job. Plenty of temporary jobs later, I began to think that being my own boss was best for me. After all, I could make all the decisions, I was great at that. I could decide what risks to take and not take. I could decide my hours and what projects to take on or not. It has been a great running my own business and being not only financially stable but free to make decisions based on what is personally best for me.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a private spa practice in Fort Worth, Texas where I specialize in corrective facials, virtual consultations and offer curated luxury skincare brands. I love to offer a custom experience to all my clients and can address a wide variety of skincare concerns. As my business has grown, I have brought in additional modalities to support my clients skincare goals such as ultrasonic skin therapy, microdermabrasion, high frequency, and my signature Golden Caviar anti-aging facial (which uses real gold flakes on the skin!).
It was not easy to start over in a new industry. My background is in IT Management and education so I had to go back to school once again and become licensed thru the state of Texas in esthiology. I did so during Covid and that was not easy at all! But all is possible when your passion and dedication is there. I transitioned to online learning (with 2 children learning from home also!).
I would like everyone to know that entrepreneurs are passionate individuals that risk it all to offer you outstanding products and services! I believe in servant-leadership that allows me to work while serving others. In my business, I work diligently to honor and support YOU and meet your skincare goals every time. I help women (and men!) feel great in their skin thru private spa services and luxury skincare.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love every bit of Fort Worth and everything it has to offer! When my best friend comes to visit, I will first take her shopping at The Shops at Clearfork. Then, since we are a little country, we will head to The Fort Worth Stockyards and hopefully catch the evening cattle drive. We would catch dinner at Buc-cees (yes, the gas station). They have some of the best brisket, kolaches and gifts in Texas. To relive our childhood, I would definitely take her to The Fort Worth Zoo to feed the giraffes. Since she likes roller coasters, I would grab us tickets to Six Flags Over Texas and treat her to a huge funnel cake and ride the new roller coasters. She is also a history buff so we would head to Dallas and visit the West End Historic District including Dealy Plaza and the Six Floor Museum. We would visit the Dallas Museum of Art and checkout the new exhibits.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The recognition goes to my supportive partner in business and partner in life, my husband Isaac. He has an extensive sales and marketing background and I was able to leverage his knowledge to make smart decisions for my business. He has taken a great leap of faith in me and supporting me in pursuit of my passions.
