We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexia Ashleigh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have given almost 10 years to corporate America. I felt like I wasn’t able to be truly build like I would like and I wanted to give my kids generational wealth.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of the way I’ve handle starting a new business, while taken care of two kids and still working my nine to five in corporate America.

Having my own business really allowed me to find myself again outside of being a mom. I’ve found a passion truly in making others smile. I’ve had a lot of challenges and in all honesty I’ve overcame them by keeping faith and trusting God. You have to keep God close in everything you do. I pray over my business as I do my family. He is to always remain #1 and everything else will fall into place.

Ahava means Love in Hebrew, “Ahava Smiles” is named after my daughter. Shai – Ahava which means Gift of Love.
I want to spread love, I want people to smile, have confidence and be able to afford it at the same time. Love smiles, love wins, love conquers.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I have to give praise to the Most High. Without him, none of this would have been possible for me. I’m truly grateful for the guidance and courage he has given me.

I truly believe success doesn’t come from one individual. I definitely have to thank my spouse. He has been super supportive, encouraging and just all around great. I’ve had to spend a lot of hours in classes and at the shop. He has spent a lot of time helping me decorate and set my shop up, he has truly been amazing and supportive.

Also, shoutout to my Girls in Brooklyn, who have truly been a phone call away during this entire journey.
