We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexa Lopes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create a space that I could offer women the experience of luxury while also allowing them to be comfortable enough to capture their inner goddess. Every woman deserves to see themselves in a new light and fall in love with all that they are.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a photographer, I specialize in boudoir & outdoor maternity sessions. I would say that what sets me apart would be that I put every part of myself into my business. From inquiry to post session, I strive to give my clients the best and most personal experience that leaves them feeling loved and exceeds all of their expectations. I want my clients to be given a luxury experience every single time.
I got to the place I am today with my new studio in Keller, TX by not only hard work, but lots of tears, affirmations, mental shifts and Dutch Bros. It wasn’t easy and I am still learning new things everyday. Marketing has been especially hard with social media algorithms always changing.
I have learned to be flexible, to listen to experts in the industry and take a break when youre feeling burnt out.
I want the world to know that I am just like you. A mother, a wife, a hot ass mess. I am relatable and I believe that everyone deserve to experience luxury.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tough one as I still consider myself pretty new to DFW and I have two kids so it’s not so easy to experience all that the cities have to offer BUT here is what I would do-
-Seven Mile Cafe for Brunch
-Dutch Bros and Summer Moon if we were staying close to my area in Keller.
-I would definitely try out new coffee shops because that’s honestly my favorite thing in the world to do.
-I would go back to Monarch (where my husband and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary), its pricey but wow. The experience is chefs kiss.
-We’d for sure sit down and go through the Dallas Love List instagram and choose some place from there.
-I’d take them to Cinnamon Creek Ranch and shoot some archery.
-Probably head over to Singleton Tattoo and get a matching tattoo by my favorite babe, Rose.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I’d like to shout out to my husband. He has always been very supportive of my decisions (even if he’s much less of a risk taker than I am). He has helped me tremendously with getting my business off the ground by helping me purchase my gear, my continued education and even supported my first in home studio. Second, I give my best friend Ashley a huge shoutout. She is basically my business partner, even if we have two separate businesses in different states. We continuously bounce ideas and dreams off of each other. She has guided me and helped me find my passion in the industry. We share our struggles and out triumphs and we’re each others number one fan! I wouldn’t be where I am mentally without her.
