We had the good fortune of connecting with Albie Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Albie, what do you attribute your success to?

I’ve been in the fashion and home design industry for 25 + years and worked for one of the most iconic brands, Levi’s, as a Design Director. I’ve spent most of my career in corporate America working in the apparel and home industry as a multi-faceted design leader. In between job changes, I also had my own interior design studio, AJ Design Studio, working with commercial and residential clients for several years. Although I have worked in the corporate environment for most of my career, I also have an entrepreneurial spirit. So, it was a natural transition for me to launch my own trend, product, and print design studio.

Having traveled the world thru Europe, Asia, India, and South America, I gained a great wealth of experience working with different cultures, vendors who produced our products and, trend spotting in so many markets. The design studio was created to provide a global perspective and is unique in that we are a one-stop design house where we can service our clients on various types of projects.  We’ve been so blessed to work with some of the top leading companies based on our reputation for delivering high quality services with speed.

FV’s success is related to working with some amazing clients who have continually supported the design studio.  I work with an amazing team of talented artists and designers from the U.S. and abroad. As a global studio, we have been successful in providing our clients with a global perspective.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

FV (Fashion Vignette) was originally created in 2007 as a fashion blog.   It was recognized as one of the fastest growing blogs for trends and fashion.  So, it was just a matter of time after I left the corporate world in 2017 and after years of providing trends to its followers, until I launched the design studio.

FV Design Studio services high-profile leading retailers and manufacturing companies globally and locally in the DFW area. Some of our clients include Amazon, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods, to name a few. Our services include trends, branding, designing exclusive products, exclusive print designs, and consulting services for mid to large companies. We also consult with start-ups who have an idea but don’t know where to begin.

One of our most rewarding and fun projects was working with a client who gave us full reign to help them launch a sleepwear/loungewear brand from scratch, called Valley of Dreamers.  We created the brand, hired legal support to trademark it, designed the products, photoshoots, and designed/launched the website.  We also helped them gain access to the wholesale business and, in a short period of time, picked up wholesale buyers.

We also take on projects supporting other small businesses to help them succeed in their dreams and goals by collaborating with them.  We’re currently supporting/consulting Fashion Granted, a mother and daughter fashion apparel retail business.  We’ve been helping them evolve with their branding and business model as one of our passion projects.  We’ve also recently launched Ecothologie, our personal brand and retailer supporting global artisans and communities to have a better life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ohh so much to do here! Well, naturally being in design, I’d have to take them to several museums, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas of Contemporary, The Nasher Sculpture Center and the Kimbell Art Museum. Restaurants, going to have to give her/he a variety so this one is really hard but Sixty Vines, Paradiso, The Mansion, Mexican Sugar, Whiskey Cake, and some good ole’ Texas BBQ. Shopping, Bishop Arts District and vintage shopping. And for the outdoors, The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden and the Fort Worth Stock Yards.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My team, too many names to mention. They have been a driving force making my visions and directions come to life. It always amazes me what they always bring to the table. I love their spirit and dedication on wanting to always deliver for any of the projects we work on.
