We had the good fortune of connecting with DeeDee Mims and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeeDee, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a parent with two grown adult daughters, I think one of the most important things I have done for them is to encourage them to be strong, independent women. Part of that was knowing how to manage yourself appropriately and respectfully in a conflict situation, stay true to your personal convictions, and do what is morally right because it is the right thing to do. Both of my daughters are successful in their fields of work, and well-respected for their integrity, their work ethic, and contributions to their fields.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I established a private Christian school in 2017. Our focus was to truly become a school choice option for those who desire a private Christian education for their students. What sets us apart is that we maintain low classroom ratios to allow teachers to individualize and personalize instruction to meet the academic, as well as the social and emotional needs of their students. A big part of my skills and leadership as an employer is from watching my husband and seeking his advice about being a leader in the workplace. Not only are my teachers very productive and well trained, they also love what they do and where they work. It makes teaching so much more effective and enjoyable when you have a truly healthy, collaborative workplace.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas is a city with a lot to offer, and realistically can reach the tastes of most people who visit here. I think I would most likely spend time at Klyde Warren Park, head to Addison for the large variety of places to eat, and see a baseball game at the new Rangers Stadium.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am very grateful for my staff and their hard work, their dedication to educating children. My staff are all rockstars! I am thankful to my husband, who supports me, and believes in what I do.
