We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Fan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In business I’m very much of a risk taker. I believe that for every eisk I take there is success. Sucess finacially or success in learning more about by myself or how to better my business. My father was an entrepreneur and has alwasy taught me that without risk there is no win nor failure. That risk that I take is my own destiny, my choice. By taking risk I was able to open a salon in a new city and no clientel. For myself it has been a success because I have not just gain loyal clients but who has became my dear friends. My team who became like family. If I did not take the risk I would I have not gain these friendship and own personal growth.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Haus Of Polish: I’ve been doing nails for over 20 years. I have own 4 shops already, but this one I wanted to do differently. By taking a risk and throw out everthing I was accustom to. While most nails salons , are walk in basis. I decided appointments only,and only using online booking. This way it allow us indivdual time with each guest, also allow our guest to choose their own time. Our menu on online so they are able to choose a service and book 24/7. Our focus is nail art, we specialized in all types of nail art. If there is a trending design, we will be able to capture that look for you. We get nail art and new colors in every month. Our salon is a team of four artist myself, Jessica Yeatman, Erica Limticao , Mapraw Khiewyoi. We are all passionate in our work and creating reltaionships with our guest. Although we are a full service nail salon, we only offer services we feel that are mostly requested. Such as acrylics, gel manicure , hard gels and pedicure. Only gel polish on all nail services. Keepin our menu simple. Pricing was also what we did was different. Theres no hidden charges. The service menu has the prices and discriptions and the only additional charges would only be nail art. We offer consultaions prior to services. Using only professional products. We are not most expensive but we are not cheap either. We are mid range in prices, its priced at a point where you are able to get your nails don regularly. In final we are a boutiqe nail salon specializing in latest nail art trend and building relationship with our guests.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
We are in San Antonio and theres tons to do! I only been here for three years.I would take my friend to the Alamo, we would than of course go to the river walk for lunch at “gourdough’s riverwal. Their menu have the funniest name and who doesnt want to try a donut burger like the Nacho Libre burger and Okra Winfrey. I would also hit the Pearl for the farmers market its a pretty chill vibe there and I love LOCAl coffe there. We would also hit up San Marcos for the outlets but also stopping at Buckys for a drink, brisket burger and gas. I try to grab a t shirt at Buckys everytime. There a small hole in the wall raman place call HEROS in San Antonio that has the most delicious broth. IG @ooyoopan makes the most delicious decadent and so o pretty maccroons. They are the most delicious maccroons I have ever tasted. The Green Lantern Bar (speakeasy bar) has the coolest refreshing alcohol beverages with a happy hour from 4-9 you cant beat that. I would also take a drive to Austin and stay downtown and hit alot of the vintage shops there. Thats bout sum it up for me , great company, good food, shopping and cold drink.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes! BSBSATX is a group of women that uplifts and promotes mompreurships, team building, women own business, and hand made artist. The groups founder Christine Brinkman and Leslee Owen is a sister team who took me into their group and help elevate my personal growth. They are full of positve vibes, help me step out my comfort zone and introduce me to a group of women that truly believe “community over competition”. I attended one of their retreat and was blown away at how much love they have to give and support to all the women there. From that day on I knew that I wanted to be part of this group.
