Meet Jessica Holmes | CEO & Wedding Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is a must! Some risks are worth taking while others are not, so you definitely have to weigh the costs. Looking back on my career and life, I can say that taking risks has played a pivotal role in where I am today. I took risks in moving to unknown places, leaving jobs, and pursuing different careers etc. If I had been afraid to step out of my comfort zone and try something new, I would not be in the position that I am today. I believe risk taking is a key to a good entrepreneurial spirit too. Failure from jumping into something isn’t always a negative thing either. They provide some of the best lessons a person can learn. These lessons can help to build your business for the better if you have an optimistic mind set. No one can ever be 100% sure if a risk will pay off but one thing I don’t want to end my life or career wondering is ‘what if’.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am the CEO and Co-Owner of Virtuous Endeavors Weddings & Events LLC. We are a wedding and event planning, coordinating & design company. I am so proud of my company and the reputation we are building. Our name itself tells people that we have high standards and morals and take pride in what we do. Working a full-time job and building a brand and business is not easy but it is well worth it. I got to where I am today by taking a risk and believing in myself, my business partner, and our vision. I am able to get through the day to day challenges with the support of Jehovah and my family and friends. On days when it feels like I just can’t juggle it all or can’t get through it, having a support system is key. Lessons I have learned along the way are to be open to critique and new and different ways of doing things. Everyone can learn and grow and that is definitely true for me. I want the world to know that I am so proud and excited that clients trust us to plan and execute some of the biggest days of their lives. We are detail-oriented dream makers who provide professional, welcoming, and affordable experiences. I want to go above and beyond to create a seamless day for my clients. Me and my team know how to deliver a beautiful execution of our client’s vision for their special day. We approach our service with honesty, integrity and strive to be one of their best investments.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love living in Dallas! I would definitely take out of town family and friends with my pup to day drink in Trinity Groves at Art Park. I would make sure we also strolled through Bishop Arts and visited some of the bars and shops. Another favorite spot of mine is the Dallas Arboretum especially in the spring time! The food hall at At&T Exchange Hall and the Dallas Farmers Market are also on my list of places to visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to first shout out my business partner and longtime friend, Christina Bolden. We began our wedding planning business together and have been through a lot. Through it all, she has supported my decisions and we have both lived and learned a lot. I would also like to shout out my family for encouraging me and believing in me. My aunt, sister, cousin, and mom have all supported me on my journey to find my passion and place in this world.
