We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Cunningham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alicia, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important part of my brand is just being me! People would always give me input and opinions but I stayed true to what I want to do. I stayed true to who I wanted on my shows, to who I wanted to work with. Tune’s World for the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started Tune’s World about 3 years ago. I always went to concerts and underground Dallas shows. I knew I could do it myself. I was apart of a team that helped me in the beginning, much love to them. I started doing it on my own in 2019 and from there things just turned up. I’m proud to have had some great talents on my shows & I appreciate anyone who has supported me in any way. I love Dallas and just want us to have our time. I want people to know I never cared about how much money I got from a show. I only wanted people to have fun and remember they came to a Tune’s World. This journey not easy, especially since I’m a woman. People try to get over on me, etc. I’m hip to the game now lol.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well me and my bff’s always trying new stuff. I would suggest going to hike. We have so much beautiful hiking places to check out. I’d suggest getting some food (crab legs to be exact) and fade a cool museum!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I just wanted to shoutout Dallas. I love my people, all my people. Tune’s World wouldn’t be anything without the people there.
