Meet Brittany Zachary | Wedding & Family Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Zachary and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I fell in love with photography early on, especially in college where I took photography classes. But honestly, it started long before that. Growing up, my family couldn’t afford a professional photographer, and it always stuck with me. I knew I wanted to create something that not only allowed me to follow my passion, but also made photography accessible for other families. Starting my business was my way of honoring that by offering beautiful, meaningful photos at a price point that doesn’t leave people choosing between memories and money.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Photography has always been more than just a passion for me it’s a purpose. I started my photography journey after taking a few college classes and falling in love with the art of storytelling through a lens. But my “why” runs deeper. Growing up, my family couldn’t afford professional photos, and it stuck with me. That’s why I built my business with the heart of making photography both beautiful and accessible.
I specialize in wedding and family photography, capturing genuine moments that people can hold onto forever. What sets me apart is my ability to connect personally with my clients. I know how much it means to have those memories documented and I make it my mission to deliver more than just pretty pictures. I give people a moment in time they can revisit forever.
Was it easy? Absolutely not. Starting a business while juggling real life came with doubt, fear, and a lot of learning. But the support of my parents and friends, my own drive, and the trust of my clients kept me going. Every shoot, every edit, every client referral has helped shape the artist I am today.
I want the world to know that you don’t have to grow up with it all to still create something meaningful. I want people to see that passion, purpose, and persistence can lead to something beautiful not just in art, but in life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m from Little Elm, but since Frisco is just around the corner, it’s where I take friends when I want to give them the full North DFW experience. We’d start with brunch at The Aussie Grind and wander around The Star for good food, shopping, and people-watching. One of my favorite hidden gems? The limestone quarry waterfall in Frisco. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and not many people know it’s there—perfect for photography and just getting away from the noise.
We’d spend a day shopping at Legacy West, catch live music at Truck Yard in The Colony, and grab dinner at places like Sixty Vines or Haywire. Maybe take a nature break at Arbor Hills, head into Dallas for rooftop views, or catch a FC Dallas soccer game or Frisco RoughRiders game. Whether we’re exploring cute corners of the Rail District or relaxing by the lake back in Little Elm, this area has so much to offer—and I love sharing it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of the people who stood beside me from the very beginning. To my parents, Thank you for always believing in me, even when professional photography felt like just a dream. Growing up without access to things like professional photos gave me the drive to make that dream a reality, not just for myself, but for others too. And to my friends, Thank you for pushing me, cheering me on, and reminding me of my worth on the days I doubted it. Every late-night editing session, every big leap I took, you were there. I’m forever grateful for the role each of you played in helping me build this business and grow into the photographer and woman I am today. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.
