Meet Terrance Thomas | Official DJ of Delahn Realty

We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrance Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terrance, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is believing that I bring actual value to the table. If I believe that I can bring value to the table, others will believe it, too. I then move on to put that value into business plans that I sell to new partners. I believe that We Must Fail to Succeed. That is the name of my very first book, published in 2011. Too many of us have this idea success should be achieved the first time we try something. I go into every situation knowing that I will face adversity and that I must recalibrate and move forward when the storm sets in. Things are not always going to flow the way I planned, and that is a good thing. I say that because nothing comes easy and I learn how to be better along the way. It’s never about the destination; it’s about the journey. I went on to write and publish a total of four books, which are all available around the world.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art comes in the form of community engagement. I work at schools, business events, sporting events, and most community events around Dallas. My journey was not easy. It took me 11 years to get where I am today. There were plenty of bumps in the road as my DJ journey took me around the world. From Chengdu, China, I was a resident DJ at Le Cafe Paname & Magma Club. I expanded my experience with the Golden Yacht company with parties on the South China Sea. Things got exciting in the Summer of 2019 when I was part of the lineup for the ISY Music Festival, was featured in DJ Magazine Asia, and secured a contract with the Atlantis Resort on Hainan Island. I found myself in the dense forests of Cambodia, DJing at a traditional drama studio for people coming to hear the original sounds of the Khmer Empire. On the white sand beaches of the East African Island of Mauritius, I worked at Pink Socks Night Club and the Hilton Hotel. I have been in many situations that contributed to my growth. That road was long, and it prepared me for the man I am today. One of my significant lessons has been to be flexible and work with people of various cultures. My experience around the world made be evaluate my values closely. The result was a heightened focus on my community. That focus makes me an excellent ambassador for Delahn Realty because Delahn Realty actively plays a role in our communities in Dallas-Fort Worth. I would like the world to know that your dreams are possible. Never give up. Never quit.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take a friend to Medieval Times first, then to Reunion Tower afterward in Dallas. Every person needs to go to the Gold Standard Gallery Lounge in Dallas across the street from the Canvas Hotel. Dallas offers a plethora of activities for people seeking memorable experiences. Start with a visit to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, where you can immerse yourself in lush greenery and vibrant blooms. I love how fresh the air is there. For a taste of history and culture, explore the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, delving into the legacy of President John F. Kennedy. I am a history lover and landmarks are a must for me. Visiting friends can experience the lively atmosphere of the Dallas Arts District, home to world-class museums like the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. I encourage my friends to sign up for a culinary adventure through the city’s diverse dining scene, ranging from authentic Tex-Mex to innovative fusion cuisine. Finally, catch a performance at the iconic AT&T Stadium or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the scenic Katy Trail, soaking in the charm and energy of this dynamic city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife deserves credit as well. My wife, Kareena, is the unsung hero behind my success, tirelessly managing logistics and marketing campaigns from the shadows. Her keen eye for challenges and mistakes allows her to preemptively correct them before they escalate, ensuring smooth operations. Without her diligent efforts, our business and brand would struggle to maintain cohesion. Kareena truly serves as the indispensable glue that holds everything together, deserving recognition for her integral role in our accomplishments.
