We had the good fortune of connecting with Kynlie Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kynlie, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Grand Prairie, Texas.

Being raised by a single mom has taught me many valuable lessons. I’ve learned to appreciate what I have. I see my mom work really hard, and with the help of my grandparents I have been given many opportunities. I appreciate the small things, and I am blessed for all that has been given to me.
Seeing my family work so hard to give me what they do makes me work even harder to give them what I can. I am in 6th Grade at a Fine Arts Academy, and currently have straight A’s. I am a member of the National Elementary Honor Society as well as being enrolled in the Gifted and Talented Program.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started dancing when I was 4. I took one class a week, and very quickly fell in Love! I wanted More! I wanted to be at my studio ALL DAY EVERYDAY. I started to compete with I was 7, and by then I was hooked. I wanted to dance in every genre! Getting to travel with my team and build friendships was the most fun. After my first competitive season, my tap instructor reached out and offered my my very 1st Duo with another amazing dancer! The practices were hard, but we learned a very fun dance, and became even Closer! I still dance a duet with the same dancer today! We have been together for 4 years and have even competed on a National Level and placed for our age.

When Covid happened, it was extremely hard. I wanted to be at the Studio with my friends, but couldn’t. My Studio did the best they could to keep us all dancing. We started having Zoom classes, and my mom turned our Guest Bedroom into a little dance studio so I could have space to practice. We all did the best we could but nothing beats in person classes, so when we were allowed to go Back….. I WAS EXCITED!

When I entered into the 1st Grade, I was allowed to attend a Theatre Camp that teaches kids how to be apart of an actual production. We start at the audition process, move through casting and rehearsals and then end the camp with an actual production at a professional Theatre! I have attended Summer in the Arts held by the Grand Prairie Arts Council every Summer since! I have been able to be in several of their Jr productions such as: Lion King Jr, Moana Jr, and this past year I was the Assistant Choreographer for Frozen Jr. My love for theatre Grew, and being able to combine both my Love of dance and theatre into Musicals was a DREAM! Recently, I auditioned for and and was Cast in Grand Prairie’s Production of White Christmas! It was my first Principal Role! I was duel cast for Susan Waverly, and got to alternate playing this part with another extremely talented individual. White Christmas taught me so much, and I loved every minute!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Grand Prairie just got a Jason’s Deli! We would go for lunch and then shopping at the Epic stores! They have built so many new ones recently!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Many people have helped me along the way!

My dance Studio, Amanda’s Dance Express, has always been full of support for me! The teachers are wonderful, and I love each of them!
Tap is one of my favorite Genres of dance, and I have the best Tap Teacher around. Suzanne Green has always been extremely supportive of my current abilities, and always offers me opportunities to grow!

My Family is my biggest cheerleading section! No matter if I am dancing, or in a musical, I know I can always count on their support.
